"What are you doing here, really?" she asks me tersely as I enter the room filled with gems on display and wood finery.
I smile as her hands cross in front of her chest.
"I'm sorry, but I want to talk to you about something other than our possible partnership."
She relaxes a little and sits down in her chair behind her marble-topped desk. She motions for me to sit across from her in another chair. I oblige, crossing one leg over the other.
"What other business could we have?" She raises an eyebrow and toys with a pen in front of her.
"I don't want to discuss it here. Could we go somewhere and have some lunch?" I brush some lint from my pants, trying not to look too seductive.
Like a spider capturing a fly in its web.
She looks down at her desk, her long luxurious hair spilling over her shoulders. She’s hesitant.
"Okay. I know a small bistro a couple of blocks from here. Good food and a great bartender."
"Sounds delightful."
I stand and offer her a hand to help her from her chair.
"We can walk, it's beautiful outside," she smiles at me.
God, she’s so beautiful.
