The air here smells like expensive perfume mixed with croissants. While the guys put things on a little too thick for my taste, I am familiar with it, considering I work with pilots daily.
Most pilots have a tendency to flirt with flight attendants in a disrespectful way. I assume that the pilots walking me home date around quite a bit, too.
“You look great when you stumble,” one of the pilots tells me. I forget which one, but I let both of them walk me back to my hotel.
I knew it!
“So do you,” I respond, unconcerned with my limited social skills at the moment.
“Do you think you got it from here?” the other pilot asks me.
“Of course,” I say with confidence.
“Well, we can help you get situated if you want,” the other pilot offers.
“I bet. However, we will just need to wait until the next trip we meet on,” I tease.
I am not a complete stranger to adventure, and I do my best to hold myself together in front of my new work colleagues. I succeed pretty well, but I know that some of my less than classy upbringing may show.
Luckily, I get away with some poor behavior due to my looks. Not that I feel conceited, but I know that guys show me more attention than they do most other girls.
“When do you need to wake up?” one pilot asks me.
“I don’t have a flight or anything. What do you take me for, an amateur?” I challenge him.
“Where’s your hotel key?” The other pilot asks.
The question sparks my reflexes, and I immediately remove my wallet from my purse and pull the hotel key from an organized slot.
“You don’t think I need your help, do you? I have everything under control. I just wanted to show you guys my ass one more time before we parted ways,” I jest.
“We both thank you,” one of them says.
“Do you think we will ever see each other again? Maybe we can talk you into a date one day,” the pilot asks.
“Which one?” I wonder.
“Your choice.”
“That sounds about right,” I acknowledge.
I can see both men in a blur. Both have huge smiles, but they maintain a healthy distance from my personal areas.
Most men try to push their limits when in similar situations. I respect these guys for demonstrating an appropriate level of restraint.
However, I see that both men look extremely good, especially in their uniforms. They also both manage to keep me laughing, which makes me feel extremely comfortable with them from the get-go.
Despite my raging hormones, I know I need to shut my eyes and get some rest.
“Well, I must get my beauty sleep now,” I say, putting my hotel card into the slot on the door.
Before I enter the room, I turn around and face the two pilots.
“Just so you both know; you made this a great night for me. I couldn’t imagine celebrating in a better way. I hope I run into you again soon,” I tell them.
“You’ll have to get the first round with your new pay raise next time,” I hear.
