“He fucking bit me!” Queenie growls as she climbs off his back. “Fuck this shit.” She takes out her gun and points it at the guy’s head. “Might wanna go grab Luis because after I shoot him, they’re gonna come running.”

Fuck. Who knew kidnapping someone would be such a workout. Grabbing Luis, I throw him back over my shoulder and turn to Queenie. She nods her head, then turns to the guy on the ground. Raising her gun, she aims it at the back of the guy’s head and fires three shots.

“Let’s go,” she says, running over to me. We take off together, heading towards the car. Just as it comes into view, we hear shouting. “Fuck. Move!”

Gunshots start ringing through the night sky. Thank god it’s dark because their aim is shit. I can hear the bullets hitting the ground or whizzing past our heads. Fuck, I don’t wanna die.

My heart pounds like a drum, and I will my legs to move with everything I have. My muscles protest, but I push past the pain and run faster than I ever have before.

Queenie is faster than me and a few feet ahead, because of the lack of dead weight that she doesn’t have to carry.

“Damn it,” I hiss as a bullet grazes my arm.

“Bastards,” Queenie curses, looking over her shoulder and firing a few shots.

My arm is throbbing alongside my legs. Thankfully, we reach the car, so I yank the door open, diving inside with Luis, and closing the door behind us. Queenie hops in the front and starts the engine. As soon as it revs, we’re peeling out of there.

More shots go off, shattering the back window.

“Fuck yeah!” Queenie cackles as we speed down the street. “Man, that was amazing. You know how many times I actually have to fight people? Sometimes it's nice not to have it easy.”

“Yeah, well maybe for you, but you didn’t get shot,” I growl.

“Shit. Are you okay?” she asks, looking at me in the rearview mirror.

I turn the light on in the back seat and check my arm. “There’s blood, but I think it just grazed me.”

“Well, there you go. Don’t be a big baby,” she smirks, and I just glare at her.

“No more,” I tell her. “Neo might love the thrill of all this, but I prefer when your playmates are tied up with nowhere to go. That’s more fun.”

“As much as I love the adrenaline boost, I do have to agree with you. I’m pretty good at fighting, but I’m also tiny. And sometimes being a mini ninja is cool and all, but I live for the blood and torture, not the action.”

“You’re crazy, you know that?” I tease.

“Tell me something I don’t know,” she laughs.

We head straight to the club and drop Luis off with Angel and Jose. “Enjoy your family reunion,” Queenie says as she locks the cell door behind Luis. She turns to Angel. “Hi little gummy bear.” She winks. Angel and Jose start screaming as they curse Queenie out. I laugh, flipping them off.

“Ready to go home?” she asks.

“Yeah. I need a shower and to bandage this up.”

We head home and Queenie disappears into the house to find one of the other guys to play with.

“How did it go?” Sam asks as I walk into his room. “Axel!” he gasps as he takes in my bloody state. “You're covered in blood.”

“I’m fine. It looks a lot worse than it is,” I assure him as I head into his bathroom.

“Let me,” he asks, rushing to the bathroom sink and grabs the first aid kit.

“Thanks,” I say, taking my shirt off.

We sit in silence as he cleans and bandages the wound. I watch him, unable to take my eyes off his gorgeous face.

“You're staring,” he states, smiling, still messing with the dressing.

“Kinda hard not to when I have the sexiest boyfriend on earth,” I tell him, giving him a smile of my own. Him taking care of me like this, it feels good. My heart feels full anytime I’m around him or Harlow.
