“For what?”

“For never giving up on me. Back then and now. Thank you for bringing back a part of me I thought was dead and gone.”

“I love you, Harlow, and you being Queenie doesn't change that. She's a part of you, which just gives me more reasons to love you. You do good for the world in your own fucked-up way, and I’m so proud of the woman you have become. I just hate what had to happen for you to get to this point in your life.”

Nope, not gonna cry.Fuck this shit.Don’t you fucking drop, you stupid tears.

“Cass.”

“Yes?” He grins at the fact that I didn't respond to his love speech.

“Ever hurt me again, I’ll kill you,” I purr, pulling him down into a heated kiss.

“Never,” he murmurs against my lips.

“KNOCK KNOCK,” I SAY, opening the door to the apartment to find Sam and Evie playing a board game.

Sam greets me with a big smile. “Hi,” he says.

“Hey, you, how's my girl treating you?”

“Good.” He smiles. “She’s great company.”

“Oh trust me, I know.” I give Evie a hungry grin, making her fair skin glow a light pink. Since Evie and I became a thing, we have been spending every moment we can together. Usually with me between her creamy thighs. I mean, my girl has been neglected, and it's mostly my fault. I have eight years of orgasms to make up for.

Evie puts the game away, and I get everything ready for the movie.

When I’m done, I sit down on the couch next to Sam. He inches his way closer to me like he needs the safety that I can provide him. I open my arm, inviting him to cuddle, and he looks at me shocked. I roll my eyes at his reaction. “Oh, don't act so surprised. I might be a scary serial killer, but I can cuddle too, you know.”

He smiles at that, shuffling even closer to me. Evie takes my other side, placing the bowl of popcorn on my lap, and pressing play before snuggling into me too.

My phone buzzes, and I wiggle to get it out of my pocket. It’s a notification that the school carnival is being canceled due to complications with the location. Rosie was looking forward to that. It was all she could talk about. Then I get an idea. Cass was going to do something with just us for her birthday, but I don't do anything half-assed. And I own a big piece of land that would be big enough for a tent. Then an even better idea pops into my head.

“Evie,” I mummer against the top of her head, giving it a kiss.

“Yes?” she whispers, snuggling into me.

“I know what I want for my first D-day back.” I grin.Oh, this is gonna be so, so good.
