I was done with this conversation and wanted to get the fuck out of that condo.
“I'll let you know if I need anything.” Biting my tongue, I contained myself enough to not point out that he hadn’t been much help with anything up to that point. He’d placed his guys on me which had only raised the Valentino boys' suspicions. That had been more trouble than helpful. To be honest, there hadn’t really been anything else he’d done since saying he would help me take down his rival.
Fuck, he’d basically just told me that my almost assassination had gotten in the way of me working on the Gio problem, and I needed to make sure that didn’t happen again.
He was un-fucking-believable. The audacity of the man.
If I thought it would benefit me any, other than making me feel better, I would punch him in the face just so I could make him bleed.
“If you’ll excuse me. Jasper and I are heading over to Gio’s lake house to do some recon. It’s about an hour away, and I want to get there before dark.” Pushing myself up, I began to make my way towards the door.
“One more thing, Tora. Dom and Angel said you’ve gotten close to Nico and his little gang of ragtag friends. Don’t get too close. I’d hate for you to get confused with someone who supports the Valentino crime family.”
Did that fucker just threaten me?
“I assure you that’s not a problem. Getting close to them is part of the plan. The closer I am to Nico the easier it will be to get to Gio. That’s all it is.” I will be having a conversation with Angel and Dom here soon. I understood Santiago was their boss, but I wasn’t going to allow anyone to go around telling my business to anyone. They needed to learn to keep their mouths shut. Otherwise, I would be forced to do it by putting them six feet under.
