Riley

“Be sure to get lots of rest,” the nurse says, giving me my discharge papers.
“Sure thing,” I say, taking the papers.
I’ve been sitting here for two days now and I’m ready to get the hell out of this bed. There’s too much going on for me to be tied to this bed. I mean Finn is fucking Porter’s daughter. I chuckle just thinking about it.
“What?” Gillian asks.
I smile up at the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen and slowly stand up. The pain in my head is a bit better, but my ribs are sore as hell. I kiss her plump lips and grin. “Just thinking what a fucking bomb that was with Finn and Porter.”
Her eyes widen as she shakes her head. “No shit! How’s that going to go down today?”
I lift an eyebrow and grab her hand. “Guess we’ll see. Let’s get the fuck out of here.”
The club wanted to be here, but I told them I needed this time with Gillian. We’ll work out a plan today while she’s sitting behind the closed door, so she deserves this time.
They tried to get me in a wheelchair, but I refused. My girl and I walk out of the hospital and when the warm air hits my face it’s like a fucking dream. I’m hurt, but I’m out.
Gillian helps me in the car and drives straight to Souls. I hold her hand in the car, trying to keep her grounded. I know she’s nervous, we all are. We need a solid plan and that’s what I’m hoping will happen today.
“You alright?” she asks.
I look over at her and my heartbeat doubles. She’s the love of my life. I know now that the reason I never settled was because I was waiting for her.
“I’m great, baby girl.” I grab my cigarette pack from the cup holder and let the joint slide out. “I’ll be better after I smoke some of this,” I say, chuckling.
She shakes her head, but her smile stays in place. “Don’t do that if you took pain medicine.”
“I didn’t,” I say, taking a long hit.
Her smile slips as she peeks over at me. “I can’t lose you again,” she whispers.
“I won’t come out of that room until it’s all figured out,” I promise.
We pull into Souls and she grabs my hand. “I love you.”
I lean over, causing my ribs to scream in pain, but I don’t care. I press my lips against hers, moaning when our tongues connect. I pull back slightly, resting my forehead on hers. “I love you so fucking much.”
After a few minutes we climb out and I close my eyes holding back a groan as I stand up. Fuck, these ribs need to heal fast.
We walk inside and I hate that I can only see out of one eye. The swelling is slightly better and it is cracked open, but doesn’t do much. I grab Gillian’s hand as we make our way to everyone.
“Thank fuck,” Porter says, lightly squeezing my shoulder. “Good to fucking have you back.”
“Good to be back,” I say. I kiss Gillian’s cheek and nod my head. “Let’s end this shit.”
We get around the table and I carefully sit down.
“You need help?” Kace asks, rushing over.
“I’m alright,” I groan.
“Fucking hell,” he whispers, walking back to his seat.
Brooks clears his throat and we all turn our focus to him. “This situation needs to be handled and it’s a little fucked up because Mia is Porter’s daughter and we don’t even know if she knows that. But, to help Riley and the rest of us, Porter has been man enough to put all that aside.” He looks at Finn and leans back in his chair. “Let’s hear it.”
