“Would you look at that?” Lola said with her mouth opened wide.
Marco cut in. “Lola, it looks like there was more than one love connection made.”
“Good grief,” I sat back against the couch and crossed my legs, “they’re just dancing.”
Suddenly, I had a bunch of eyes on me.
“Honey, they’re dirty dancing,” Gigi said with a worried tone to her voice.
“So?”
“So?” Gianna looked at me like I was crazy. “Dirty dancing to old people like that is practically a mating dance.”
My jaw dropped.
“Would you stop?” I said as I shook my entire body. “You’re so gross.”
“Oh, boy,” Nikki said again, and all our heads swiveled back to the TV.
There we saw my dad, and Trey’s mom—kissing.
“What the heck?” I whispered, feeling like my lungs had ceased working.
That kiss had turned into a—oh, no—a make-out session.
On the dance floor.
“Oh, boy,” Nikki repeated as we watched my dad’s hand slide over Marianne’s butt cheek.
“What the heck?” I said louder this time. “I’m going to kill him,” I muttered to myself as I clenched my fists together.
The next clip showed them walking up to a—“No, no, no.” I rose from the couch and walked closer to the TV.
“You are not going in there,” I said to my dad who was right now walking hand in hand with Marianne Turner up to a wedding chapel.
“What the heck?” I practically screamed at the TV.
Okay, I definitely screamed.
I watched them laugh, and pick out rings.
“You wouldn’t.” I stared at my dad, willing him with my mind to leave that wedding chapel at once.
He handed two rings to the guy behind the counter. Then he kissed Marianne.
Again.
“No, you are not!”
The next shot was of Dad and Marianne standing underneath a flower-covered arch, kissing as he dipped her back.
“Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Hunter!” the wedding officiant announced.
“No, you did not!” I yelled and pointed at the TV as I jumped up and down. “You did not!”
“Oh, boy,” Nikki said behind me.
“Would you look at that,” Gianna said, her voice sounding shocked.
