I rolled to my back and gathered her up in my arms.

She set her chin on my chest. “That was,” she paused for a few weighted seconds, “intense.”

I had to laugh at her understatement.

“That was a hell of a lot more than just intense.” I ran my hand through her soft, mussed hair.

“What word would you use to describe what just happened?”

Fuck.

She was so cute.

“Sweetheart, that word has not been invented, yet.”

A few hours later,when we eventually emerged from the bedroom, Lexi traipsed to the kitchen.

I wandered to the living room, and stood in front of the coffee table.

“Should I drink that?” I asked as I stared at the still bubbling mixture sitting there.

“What? The salad smoothie?”

“Yeah.” Another lump oozed over the rim, and down the side of the glass.

“Probably. There’s about twenty dollars worth of spinach in it.”

I considered her response but decided against it.

My intestines would never forgive me.
