“Well, the first thing was when I first saw her. It made me feel like I’d been hit with something hard right in the chest. I wanted to know every little thing I could about her. And the physical attraction was off the charts, but it was more than that. I wanted to be with her all the time and not just in bed. No other woman even made me think about getting hard after I met her either. Why?” I asked him curiously.
He didn’t say anything for a couple of moments, then he sighed. “Because I think I might have met my one, and she’s determined not to give me the time of day.”
“Shit, really? Who?”
“Rylan, the woman from the spa in town. You know, the one who came here to do that spa day a while back for the ladies. I haven’t been able to get her out of my head. I even asked her out, but she said no.”
“Don’t take no for an answer. Keep asking. That’s what I did.”
“I’ve never had to chase a woman, Demon. Hell, I can’t recall the last time I even had to ask a woman out, or even went on what you’d call a date. Fuck, maybe I should just forget about it and her.”
“If that’s what you think, then maybe you should. If she’s not worth the time and effort, then you’re not ready. If all you’re looking for is a quick fuck, then look elsewhere. Lord knows we can find those kinds of women anywhere. Just be sure before you throw this chance away, she’s not what you want. Because if it turns out she is, some other guy might beat you to the punch. Who knows, maybe even one of your brothers.” He straightened up and looked at me. I saw the fire in his eyes. Ah, he didn’t like that idea.
“I don’t want some other guy to be sniffing around her, and I sure as hell don’t want one of my brothers touching her. Screw it, I’ll figure out some way to get her to go out with me.”
“If I could make a suggestion. Why don’t you get the old ladies involved? They know her. If they strike up a friendship with her, that could get her to start coming around the compound. You’d be able to get to know her some that way, and she could get to know you. Just don’t let the bunnies fuck it up. They caused enough of a shitstorm for me, as you saw.”
He shuddered. “That’s for sure. Damn, I never thought sleeping with whoever I wanted could come back to bite me one day. I’ve never made any woman any promises. I’ve always been up front that it’s just sex.”
“Me too, but they can get other ideas. Just think about what I said. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to find something to eat, so I can feed my fiancée.” He grinned and gave me a chin lift. I dug around in the fridge and found some leftover stew one of the ladies had made. I warmed both of us up some and added some bread.
When I got back to my room, I found Zara watching television. “Sorry, baby, I ran into Maverick, and he needed to talk for a minute.”
“Is he alright?”
“Just having some lady problems.”
“Lady problems or bunny problems?” she asked skeptically.
I laughed. “An actual lady, not a fuck buddy, I swear. He likes Rylan. You know, the lady from the spa. He asked her out, and she said no.”
“She probably heard what you bikers are like. It’s intimidating. If he’s serious about dating her, then he should let us ladies get to know her better.”
“Exactly what I told him. But enough about Mav. You need to eat, baby.” We enjoyed our food. After we were done, we took a shower which led to another very hot session of making love. Then we hit the bed again for more sleep. I could get used to this.
