I inhale deeply, his scent flowing through my veins. “You’re an Alpha hole,” I confirm. “And that’s okay.”

He chuckles. “If you say so. I think those suppressants are just making you loopy.”

“Maybe,” I murmur, placing a kiss to his clothed chest. “Will you tuck me into bed?”

I don’t know what possesses me to ask. All I know is I want to be closer to Brock.

He’s the only one that hides his feelings.

He’s the only one that looks haunted by secrets, and I want to know why.

But as he opens the door and helps me into bed, he flashes me a smile so brilliant it makes his amber eyes brighten.

“You never have to ask me for anything like that,” he whispers, pulling the covers up for me. “Do you need more blankets?”

Ooh. Blankets sound amazing.

“Yes, please,” I murmur, my body drained of energy.

“I’ll be right back,” he says. He places a kiss on my forehead, a touch so gentle I’m not sure if I imagined it, before leaving the room.

I try to stay awake until he comes back, but I fail.

Sad amber eyes and forehead kisses fill my dreams.
