The older woman clapped her hands and smiled. “Oh, that’s wonderful news. Miss Catalina and I will have to go over menus for the boy, so I have everything we need for him.”
“We’re not picky, ma’am,” Cat said. “I don’t want you to go to any trouble.”
“Oh, I’m going to enjoy this. I promise.”
“Thank you, ma’am.”
“Will you be here for lunch and dinner, sir?”
“Yes. Expect us at every meal. I’m planning on working from home.”
“That’s wonderful news. Hopefully, she’ll get you to relax,” Mrs. Pinkerson said and winked at Cat.
Cat smiled. “I’ll try.”
“I’m going to get them settled, and then we’ll be down for lunch.”
“I’ll have something ready for you all.”
“Thank you,” he said.
“It was nice to meet you,” Cat said.
“You, too, dear. I’m thrilled that you’re here. This house needed some life.”
King led Cat out of the kitchen, down a hallway, and up a set of stairs.
