“What’s with all the boxes of stuff?” Warrick asked.
“For some reason, Kinley got a few boxes full of computer parts. She wants to build a computer with Shelby.”
“I think my girl will love it.” He was reluctant to leave, and he knew Eli could see it.
“Don’t worry. I’ll keep my eyes on them, man.”
“I know.” He shook his hand, turned, and left. He was halfway down the hall when he heard Shelby yell.
“Warri—daddy!”
He turned to see her race his way and caught her when she leaped into his arms.
“What’s wrong, baby?”
“You didn’t say goodbye.”
“I’m sorry. You looked busy.”
“I’m never too busy to kiss my daddy.”
Warrick chuckled. “Good to know.”
Like every other time, the moment they started to kiss, it quickly heated. He leaned against the wall and kept kissing her until someone yelled, “Get a room.” He lifted his head and groaned. Her lips were puffy and red, and dark desire filled her eyes.
Jesus, he wanted to fuck her in the worst way but knew she’d be sore for a day or so.
She wiggled to get down. “I should go back to work.”
She’d tried to sound so serious, and he held back his smile. “I know. Eli will call me if you need me.”
She nodded and walked off. He had taken a few steps when she yelled. “Bye. I’ll miss you.”
Warrick chuckled and turned around. “I’ll miss my baby, but I’ll see you soon.” He almost snatched her up when he caught the sad look in her eyes, but he relaxed when Kinley came out, grabbed her hand, and pulled her back into the room.
He couldn’t believe how natural it was to be with her. It was like they’d been together for months. She’d taken to the little lifestyle amazingly well as though that was what she’d been looking for to be happy.
A few hours later, he walked into Eli’s office to see him and a few other guys looking over the girls’ shoulders and whispering.
He got Eli’s attention without disturbing the girls. “What’s going on?”
Eli turned and grinned. “They got done with the first phase of some project.”
“Already?” Warrick asked.
“Yeah. But this has to do with something else. They think this shit is fun.”
Warrick laughed.
“They explained it, saying they started to program malware that when a hacker breaks into our security, our system will send out a virus to the hacker’s computer that will destroy everything on the hard drive.”
Warrick’s eyes widened. Hell, that would be great. “How far did they get?”
“I’m not sure. When I asked, they started talking computer terminology and lost me after the first sentence.”
Warrick threw his head back and laughed. Not a second later, he heard Shelby scream.
“Daddy!”
