Chapter Twenty-Four
After going through the house, Cesar raced out to his car and made a call.
He explained what was going on to Duncan, the head of security at another company. They’d become good friends because of their interest in littles. The men tended to bond together as much as the women did.
“I’m on it. Does she have a credit card and or a phone?” Duncan asked.
Cesar heard Duncan furiously typing. “Not a credit card, but she does have a debit card, though. She should also have her phone with her.”
“Okay, I’ve got the number. I’ll find her if she uses it anywhere,” Duncan said.
“How in the hell did you get my bank account number so fast?” Cesar asked.
“One, because I’m good, and two, because you know as well as I do that all our information is on the web.”
“God, that frightens me.”
“Me, too. Oh, hey, I’ve got her. She just checked into a hotel across town.”
Damn, the man was good. He wished he had him in their business.
“I’m sending your phone the directions and what room she’s in. Good luck, man. It’s hard sometimes because the littles are so sensitive. Go easy on her.”
“Yeah, I will. I just want her back where she belongs.”
“Call if you need anything else,” Duncan said, then hung up.
Cesar plugged the address of the hotel into his Google Maps and headed that way.
“Hello.” He smiled as he walked up to the hotel front desk. “Did my wife leave a key for room three-five-two for me?”
The woman looked at the screen and then back up at him. “I’m sorry, it says only one person was supposed to be in that room.”
“No, it’s two. Did my wife forget to tell you about me again?” He chuckled and shook his head. “Let me pay, too, while I’m here since she forgot to do it.”
“Certainly.”
The transaction was made in a few minutes, and then he was on the elevator to Amber’s floor with a key to her room. It almost made him sick how easy it was. When the lady looked at his card and license, he started to sweat, and he was shocked when she didn’t react to the different name.
It worked in his favor, but he’d be sure to call the manager the next day to tell him he needed to train his staff better.
When Cesar got to Amber’s door, he pressed his ear to it and heard the shower was on. Good, maybe he’d be able to take her by surprise.
He stepped into the room, closed the door, and locked it before he looked around. It was a nice room. He was glad about that since they’d be spending the night there, and he wasn’t going to let her out of bed until morning.
Cesar walked past the bathroom, where he could hear her crying. Fuck, he hated that sound and was almost tempted to rush in there instead of waiting for when she was out.
But he wanted her closer to the bed, so he got comfortable in one of the chairs in the corner and waited.
His stomach twisted at his first look at her face. Her face was red and puffy from crying, and he wanted to kick his own ass for making her so sad.
It didn’t take long for her gaze to land on him.
“Did you think you’d hide from your daddy?”
She pressed a hand to her mouth when she started to scream, muting the sound.
“What— How did you find me? How did you get in?”
