The sad look on her face made him want to destroy them even more, but he needed to concentrate on her right then.
He hated that she’d been alone to deal with the vipers.
They’d been together for several months, and he was finally planning on them staying at the house full-time instead of the condo. It was becoming a home because of her decorating, and he loved everything she had done so far. Besides, a few of the guys needed a place to live, so they would take over his condo in the city.
Cesar hired a driver/bodyguard to stick around the house while he was away because there was no way he’d leave her alone.
Fuck. The fact that Thomas, the driver, had been gone was his fault. He’d called him and told him to go and that he’d be home shortly, within minutes, but it was enough time for her mother and sister to do their damage.
He’d like to hire more staff sooner rather than later. It helped to have Thomas and Charles there most of the time, but it would make him feel better knowing she wasn’t ever alone when she wanted to stay home instead of going to his office with him.
He’d just hadn’t had the time, but he was going to make time now. At the moment, he needed to settle her down and take care of her. “How about we go rest in the backyard for a bit?”
He knew the area was one of her favorites, and she’d been working on the plants and flowers. It was also very peaceful, and they spent a lot of time out there.
Cesar got them arranged on their favorite double lounger and pulled the blanket over them.
He wanted to question her more but decided against it. He’d have to find out what was going on without Amber because it upset her too much.
His primary concern was her, and it always would be.
