“Where is she?” Jenna asked.
“In her playroom.”
Jenna grinned. “I bet she loves it.” She looked up at Trey. “Can we go see her now?”
“Yes.” Trey patted Duncan on the shoulder. “Thank you.”
“Oh, you’re very welcome.”
“If it’s okay with you, we’ll head up now?”
“Sure. Go on up.”
Trey and Jenna took the stairs to the second floor and walked to the back room, where several women, including Kyla, played and looked through the new toys. The room had turned out to be spectacular, and he could tell by the look on Kyla’s face she loved it.
He’d asked Jenna if she wanted a room like the other girls, but she said no. She had never been into dolls, and all the other littles had tons of games they could play. She did ask for a bookshelf in his office where she could store the books she had enjoyed.
“Go say hi to her. I’ll stay back until you guys can talk.”
Jenna went up on her tiptoes and pressed a kiss to his chin. “Thank you, Daddy.”
He smirked and smacked her ass, making her giggle.
Trey leaned back against the wall, crossed his arms, and watched the reunion. Both girls started crying instantly, and they wouldn’t stop hugging each other. Pretty soon, all the littles in the room were in a group hug and jumping up and down while they laughed and cried at the same time.
He turned toward the doorway when he heard a chuckle and a snort.
“They never cease to amaze me,” Darian said. “They’ve got so much love in them they’re practically bursting with it.”
Trey grinned.
“If they don’t stop, they’re all going to fall over,” Travis said and then laughed.
Trey talked to the other men as the girls calmed down. He straightened when Jenna pulled Kyla toward him.
He looked down at the sweet girl he’d unintentionally hurt, and he hated that he could still the remnants of it in her eyes. He cupped her chin in his palm. “I am so sorry for hurting you, honey. I would never deliberately do that. You’re special to me and everyone here. Can you find it in your heart to forgive me?”
Trey’s heart melted when the woman started crying, smiled, then wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face against him.
“Of course, Trey.”
He pressed a kiss to the top of her head. “Thank you. You know Jenna and I are here for you no matter what, and I have to warn you if you try to run off again, you’ll have a bunch of daddies after your ass. Don’t ever scare us like this again.”
She giggled. “I won’t. I promise.”
“Good. Now, go on and play. The men will be downstairs.”
He caught Jenna before she walked away and pulled her into his arms, lowered his head, and kissed her passionately until the other girls and the men hooted and cheered.
“Why’d you do that?” Jenna asked breathlessly.
“So, you wouldn’t forget me.”
She snorted. “That’s not possible.”
He pressed a hard kiss to her lips. “Good. Now, go play.”
He watched her run back to the others and was surprised by how much of his life was about her and how happy he was. It had been years since he’d been this content, and he’d do everything he could to keep her.
