He glanced at her and narrowed his eyes. “The first one on the right is yours, and Kyla’s in on the left. Where are you going?”
“I thought I’d lie down for a bit.”
“I want you to eat first,” he said.
“I’m really not that hungry.”
“I want you to try, please. You can’t get stronger if you don’t eat.”
“I think you guys need some time.”
Kyla glanced at her in confusion. “For what?”
She could feel her face heat when he smirked at her.
“No, pet. Kyla and I are friends.”
“Oh, my God, did you think that Trey and I—”
“It’s just you both look good together.”
Trey snorted, and Kyla laughed.
“I look like a young child next to him. There’s no way. Plus, we don’t feel … like that. Now, the two of you would be perfect.”
Jenna couldn’t understand the relief she felt. “I’m not that much taller than you.”
“You’re over three inches taller. It makes a difference.”
Trey cleared his throat, gaining both women’s attention. “How about you ladies let me decide who I want?”
“I’m guessing it’s not me?” Kyla giggled.
He tapped the tip of her nose. “You are absolutely adorable, honey, and I know a man will come along very soon for you, but I’ve made it a precedence not to date anyone who can fit in my pocket.”
Kyla laughed so hard tears filled her eyes, and Jenna couldn’t help the smile that crossed her face at the picture he made in her head.
“But you are attracted to Jenna, right?” Kyla grinned.
He chuckled. “Yes, I am.” He looked at her. “And she’s attracted to me, which will help if we give any relationship a chance.”
“I never said that.”
“Yes, you did, just not with your words. Now, sit down.”
She scowled and sat. “You’re damn bossy. You know that?”
“Yes. You’ll get used to it, pet.”
“And if I don’t?” she asked.
He set a plate with eggs and toast in front of her and then ran his hand over her head. “Oh, I’ll make sure you’ll want to. Now eat.”
She snorted but dug in. She couldn’t remember the last time she ate, and it tasted really good. He’d put chives and a bit of cheese in the eggs to spice them up.
Besides being an asshole, the guy was pretty awesome. Although, she’d never tell him that.
