Ilook up through my lashes as Dante’s grits his teeth, his jaw is tight and his knuckles have whitened around the bedpost. He smells of soap, and I can feel the tremor of his body with each move I make.

Just a little while ago, I was afraid I’d failed some sort of test … but after the past few minutes, and Dante’s apology, I’ve realized it’s notmewho appears to be failing whatever his test is.

This may be my first time touching a man this way, and I may have absolutely no idea what I’m doing, but it doesn’t seem to matter.

I’ve awoken something in him, and he’s become putty in my hands.

One of his greatest vulnerabilities laid bare before me.

I could quite literally bite down on him, no doubt causing him excruciating pain.

Despite the strangeness of it all, I’ve never felt quite so powerful as I do now.

So … in control.

And to think such a simple thing could havethemafia boss quite literally trembling before me.

Me.

A new plan begins to form in my mind as I continue to pleasure Dante. Maybe there’s more ways than one to bring these men to their knees.

To destroy them from the inside out.

I reach out to wrap both hands around him as I struggle to take more of him in my mouth. I watch as he grits his teeth, and his hips shift to allow him to push deeper still.

His body tenses, and a low growl rumbles through him and into me. Suddenly Dante’s eyes fly open, burning with lust and need. He grabs the back of my head, and thrusts deeper into me. I gag, my eyes tearing up, as his grip tightens in my hair and he works himself in and out of my mouth.

Fear once again replaces the power I’d felt only moments ago as I’m anchored in place by his immeasurable strength. I let out a muffled cry, nearly blinded by the tears in my eyes as I shove the base of my palm into him.

Dante exhales sharply, his hold on my hair loosening as he pulls away from me, and I fall back on the bed. He presses his fingertips to his body, glancing up at me, momentary shock flickering across his face.

“I-I’m sorry,” I breathe, not knowing what else to say as wipe the tears from my eyes, secretly hating myself for apologizing to him.

“Sorry?” he snorts, his breathing heavy as he stares at me in confusion for a few seconds before shaking his head. “No. You have nothing to be sorry for. I shouldn’t have let things go so far. I’m the one who should be apologizing.”

I blink at this, not knowing how to respond. Neither of us says anything as Dante bends to pick the towel up off the floor and walks over to his closet. When he re-enters the main room a few minutes later, he’s fully dressed and doesn’t so much as glance my way.

“Did I do something wrong?” I ask as he reaches for the doorknob.

He pauses, his back still to me before slowly turning and crossing over to the bed. I stare up at him, my heart pounding my chest as he reaches out to grab me by the shirt and pull me to him.

His lips meet mine, sending all thoughts fleeing my mind as he deepens the kiss. His free hand tenderly lifting to caress the side of my face, and I can’t help but lean into it.

The next second, he’s pulled away, leaving me hungry and wanting more.

So much more.

“No,” he finally says after a long moment, his blue eyes meeting my own. “Now, go to sleep.”

He says this last bit in that same low, commanding voice before turning and crossing back to the door. Opening it, he disappears out into the hall.

“What about my training?” I call after him, my eyes already beginning to feel heavy, but he doesn’t answer as he shuts and locks the door behind him.

Left alone I try to make sense of everything that just happened.
