“I mentioned that in the notebook? I’m disappointed in my past self for giving him page time.”

“No, I’m glad you did. I just wished I’d reread the thing a couple years ago.”

“Would it have changed things?”

“Yes.”

“I want to read the notebook too. I’m sure there are a ton of things I forgot.”

“Okay.”

“We’ll read it together?”

“Yes, let’s.”

“Hey, Norah?” His hands, which were still covering mine on his neck, moved to circle my wrists.

“What?”

His grip on my left wrist tightened; then his brows went down in confusion. He brought my arm in front of him and pulled up the sleeve of the sweatshirt, revealing the friendship bracelet. His mouth opened slightly in surprise. “You still have this?”

I nodded. “Of course.”

He smiled and my stomach did that weird flippy thing again.Skyler had an amazing smile. He let go of my hand and I lowered the other one from his neck. They were warm now, and being this close to him was not helping.

“Thanks for talking,” I said. “We should probably…” I looked toward the RVs.

“We’re good?” he asked.

“Yes, we’re fine, Skyler. Everything is going to be fine.”

He surprised me by pulling me into a hug. His neck was warm and his arms applied just the right amount of pressure on my back. I had forgotten what a good hugger he was.

“I’ve missed you,” he said.

I willed myself not to cry again as I sunk into him. “I’ve missed you too.” I held on tight.

“You feel better?” he asked.

I nodded against him.

“See,” he said. “I remember my thing.”
