Chapter Nineteen

Luciana

Two days ago, I never would have dreamt that I’d wake up in the bed of a demon. Let alone the demon I’d come here to destroy.

I feel… happy.

And that feels super strange.

Sebastian’s arms are wrapped around me, his breath even and warm on my hair from behind. His muscular thighs are entwined with mine, my ass pressed against him. The night before he’d brought up an amazing array of gourmet treats and we’d fed each other fruit and cheese and sipped on more wine. Then we’d showered and fallen asleep in soporific bliss.

Is this what it feels like to fall for a monster?

Confusion presses in on the warm butterflies floating in my stomach. The night before, he’d seemed genuinely shocked to find out about how I became part-demon. Is he just playing me, or does he really not know what the Night Guild is doing to people? It feels like his response was honest, but then, he is a demon. He’s an expert liar and manipulator.

Ultimately, though, it doesn’t matter. I need to focus on my mission. Taking down the Night Guild is all that matters. So, my new boss is amazing in bed… that doesn’t change anything. We’re having fun. Fun that’s going to end the second he finds out why I’m really here. Even if he’s not that involved, I know his brother is. And Sebastian will never forgive me if I’m responsible for imprisoning Caspian.

I can do this.

I will do this.

So, why does my stomach tie itself in knots at the thought? Why does it feel like I’m the one doing something wrong?

Sebastian stirs and makes a mmm sound against my hair. “Good morning, gorgeous.”

He pulls me closer against him, and I can feel his cock hardening against my ass. All thoughts of my terrible predicament leave my head in an instant.

“Morning,” I murmur, sliding my thigh against his.

Sebastian runs his hand across my ass cheeks and moves his fingers between my legs. He kisses the side of my neck as he slowly slides his long middle finger inside me. A spike of pleasure shoots through my core and I gasp. His finger curls slightly inside of me, hitting all the right spots as he penetrates me. Within moments, I’m slick and throbbing from his touch.

With a quick move, he pulls his finger out and rolls on top of me, propping up on his elbows and kissing me deeply as his dick replaces his finger. He lets out his own moan as he slides all the way in, as far as he can go. Last night had been fast and hard, but this morning Sebastian is soft and slow to match the hazy morning light coming in the windows. He rolls his hips in rhythm and I hike up my knees on each side of him as he thrusts.

I let out a cry as my climax begins to build, and Sebastian hooks one of my legs over his shoulder. But he doesn’t pick up speed. He takes his time, teasing me, pulling out almost all the way and pausing before sliding back in. For several minutes, his lips trail across my shoulders, along my jaw, back to my lips, to my earlobe, all the while slowly entering me, over and over. Magic sparks around us, spinning and glowing.

The orgasm slams into me out of nowhere and I scream. Sebastian thrusts several more times, letting out his own yell as he convulses inside me. Then he pulls out, kissing down the front of my body before falling to the bed next to me and pulling me against him.

“I guess I can’t get enough of you, either,” he says, his voice low and velvety.

We lay like that for several moments, and then a loud booming sound reverberates through the house. I tense and lift my head, and Sebastian lets out a groan.

“That would undoubtedly be my brother,” he says.

“What time is it?” I ask, glancing around for a clock.

“Not even eight.” A sigh. “The summit doesn’t start for another two hours. Demons aren’t usually early risers.”

“Then why is he here?”

“Caspian is…” He pauses and lets out another sigh. “Actually, for your own mental sanity I suggest you don’t even ponder what makes Caspian do the things he does.” He presses his lips to mine, as if drinking me in. “But we should probably get dressed.”

Sebastian gets out of bed and stretches, a glorious vision of hard muscles and bare skin. He puts on one of his robes and turns. “Stay here until I come back.” Something flickers through his eyes. “It would be best if he didn’t know you were here.”

“Why?”

He doesn’t answer, just casts me another unreadable look and strides out into the hall. I get out of bed and hop into the shower again for a moment to rinse off, then set about drying my hair while I wait for Sebastian to return. I realize I don’t have any clean clothes to wear, but that problem is solved several minutes later when Sebastian returns with both a tray of coffee and several dresses.

“Where did those come from?” I ask in surprise.
