Damon smiles as I open my top and settle her on my breast.

“Save some for me.” He teases and my belly flutters. “Did you ever think you’d have those glorious D cups? Fuck, baby, your tits are world class.”

I giggle, looking down at the changes in my body.

“I didn’t think a lot of things would be this way. A year ago, I was racing away on a speed boat. Now look at us.”

“Maybe we are still in the dream.” He kids as he spins a whisk in the saucepan, the kitchen filled with the most glorious scent of his cooking. “Or a coma.”

He laughs and dips a spoon in the sauce, then shakes his head in satisfied bliss.

“It was the best of times…” I start, remembering the joy and sorrow of that day and how it ended as the start of a life I never imagined.

From behind, I hear the click of nails on the wood floor and turn to see Glubs and Blubs meandering into the kitchen, looking for handouts.

“Hello my sweet boys.”

They both work their way around the kitchen island and sit where Damon is cooking, looking up at him with pathetic eyes.

“They’re spoiled,” he says with a grin.

“They should be. You’re spoiled too, you know.”

He nods. “I am. You make me feel like a king, baby.”

“You are my king.”

“And you’re the queen.”

“We rule our empire hand in hand.” I add and he nods. That’s been our motto since we left Dove’s Point. We do things together. Make decisions together.

And, to my shock, we even run his business together.

“Did you hear back from January?” He asks and I nod.

“Yes. She will fly to the island on Thursday, so we need to have the helicopter or The Doralee there to pick her up and bring her out to the house.”

“I’ll make sure it’s all arranged.”

“And, Margaret is all set?”

“Yep.”

“Cool. My dad is, too. He has no idea, just that we are having some friends over. I’m hoping he and Margaret…” I shrug and Damon raises his eyebrows. “It would be good for him to have someone who isn’t a psycho bitch.”

“Agreed. Shall we give them the shagging villa?”

“Stop!” I laugh. Thinking of my dad that way isn’t doing anything for what I know is going to come from Damon as soon as Evangeline is down after her feeding.

“Just saying…” He continues and I crinkle my nose, moving the baby from one side to the other.

“Okay. About an hour and it will be ready.” Damon comes around to where I’m sitting and gives me a long, slow kiss. “But, I’m ready now.”

He runs his hand up my thigh, pushing my skirt up and settles his fingers into my already wet sex as I moan.

“The baby.” I start and he smiles that smile, retreating to leave me conflicted, because I already want him even though it’s only been a few hours since he feasted between my legs in front of the fire.

“When she’s done. I’ll be here waiting.” He kisses my forehead and strides into the great room, leaning down to poke the fire as the dogs follow him.

Outside, snow is falling, and he throws on his red and black plaid wool jacket. “I’ll take the boys out for a bit. Need to cool my cock off until you’re ready.”

I watch as the three of them walk out into the snow, Damon throwing a red ball and the dogs wiggling after it.

Evangeline falls asleep feeding, and I take her to the crib we have set up in a little room off the main living area, laying her down and listening to her slow breathing as I set a hand on her head.

“Good night, my little angel.”

I wander back into the kitchen, my stomach growling, and pick up the lid to the saucepan, unable to resist taking a taste on the spoon, enjoying the warm savory flavor and remembering the first night we met.

I enjoy the taste with zero guilt now, and for a moment wonder what would have happened in my life if I hadn’t set my eyes on Damon that night.

Maybe this is a dream. All I know is, I want to have it over and over again. I want to kiss him at midnight on this night for as many nights as this life allows.

Then, I want a thousand more.
