And although chasing our mate was part of our very DNA, we needed to know that she wanted us too.

“I need to go, Brad. But I’ll be back later.”

“Sweetheart, let me say one more thing before you run away. I know that we are a lot to take. Three of us, the wolf thing… but we want you. All of you. We want to love you. But we won’t force you to be with us. So, if you want to try again, or at least give us another chance to try this relationship… assuming you do…?”

She nodded quickly and relief winged through my heart.

Thank the Heavens for that.

“Then perhaps you should say something—or do something. You can’t expect Aaron and Grayson to do more than throw themselves in front of guns for you.”

She nodded and practically ran away.

“Oh… shit…”

I scrubbed my face with my hands.

What a mess.

After dinner, Grayson and Aaron turned up in my room once again.

I was forcing down the hospital food with a fork made of plastic.

Disgusting.

“Let’s go, Brad. It’s getting dark and we want to get home at a decent hour.”

I threw back the sheet and swung my legs over the edge of the bed.

“Great. Let’s go.”

The nurse wheeled in a wheelchair, a grim look on her face.

“We don’t advise this, Mr Thompson. It’s too soon after surgery to be leaving the hospital.”

I smiled at her. For a human it probably was too early, but I was ready to go.

“Thanks for all the help today, but I’m pretty right. We heal fast in my family.”

I stood up, grimacing as pain shot through my thigh.

“I’ll be right to walk.”

She shook her head. “Oh, absolutely not. It’s hospital policy. Get in.”

She pointed towards the wheelchair.

I looked at Grayson, the big powerful Alpha, who was grinning his head off

.

“Shut up.”

I turned and sat my ass in the bloody wheelchair.

Aaron laughed, loudly.
