“Touché,” I replied.

I had never seen Bree get ready so fast. She’d slipped on a light blue sundress with white sandals. Her hair was pulled up into what she called a sloppy bun, but I thought it looked stunning with all those locks of soft brown hair piled up on her head, a few stray strands hanging down and curling up around her neck. She’d put on a little bit of makeup, but I knew the glow on her cheeks wasn’t from anything artificial. It was from the last few days of endless lovemaking. A few rounds of fucking, and some amazing shower and tub sex.

Since I had pretty much kidnapped her and brought her here, she hadn’t brought anything from home with her—and that included her birth control pills, which we’d both agreed she would stop taking. We were going to let things happen as they happened.

Clearing my throat, I looked away from my stunning wife before I embarrassed myself with a hard-on.

The jeweler came into the room. “Mr. and Mrs. Morrison, it’s a pleasure to help you this afternoon with your purchase of wedding bands.”

“We need an engagement ring as well. You did bring some with you?” I asked.

The older man with gray hair and kind green eyes nodded. “I did, indeed.”

We were staying in one of the larger suites in the resort. It had a full-size kitchen as well as a living area with a large dining room table that sat eight.

Lacing my fingers with Bree’s, we made our way over to the table and sat while the jeweler began to take out the boxes from a locked container. A security guard stood close by, but not enough to be in the way.

“I wasn’t sure if you wanted precious jewels as an option, so I brought some with me as well as the traditional diamonds.”

Bree practically bounced in her seat, her eyes widening with delight at the sight before her.

“Do you have a favorite cut, miss?” the jeweler asked.

Looking back at him with a wide grin, she replied, “I’ve always liked a cushion cut.”

He nodded. “And do we prefer color or a traditional diamond?”

She chewed on her fingernail for a few moments. “Traditional.”

He quickly took out a large box and slid it open to reveal some rings. Bree gasped and looked at me, then back at the rings.

I noticed her gaze immediately went to one.

“Do you like that one?” I asked as I pointed to it.

She drew in a breath and whispered, “It’s beautiful.”

“Which one?” the jeweler asked.

Bree pointed to it.

“Ahh, yes. That is a two-and-a-half-carat cushion-cut diamond. It’s framed by brilliant sparkling round diamonds that sweep across the entire band. The milgrain beading adds a vintage touch to the ring, don’t you think?”

Bree nodded. “Yes, that’s why I love it.”

He went on. “The color is F, the clarity one. The metal is fourteen-karat gold with a white rhodium finish on it. It’s a very beautiful ring. Shall we try it on?”

When Bree looked at me, I nodded. She turned back to the jeweler. “How much is it?”

I held up my hand. “The price doesn’t matter. What matters is if you love it.”

Her cheeks turned the most beautiful shade of pink.

I held my hand out to the jeweler. “May I?”

He smiled and handed me the ring. I took Bree’s left hand and smiled down at the tied piece of paper. It was almost falling apart from how many times we’d taken them off and on. I untied it and then slipped the diamond ring on her finger. It was a perfect fit.

“It’s a sign when the ring fits like a glove,” the jeweler stated with a wide smile.

Bree stared down at the ring, and I could see the tears forming in her eyes. “It’s beautiful.”

“Is this the one?” I asked softly.

She nodded. “Yes.”

“The wedding band?” I asked the gentleman.

“Yes, of course.”

It didn’t take long for Bree to pick a band. It was fourteen-karat white gold trimmed in the same classic milgrain detailing with a row of brilliant round-cut diamonds.

Sliding the engagement ring off her finger, I slid the band on and then put the engagement ring over it.

“It’s a bit bigger,” she said, twisting the band around.

“We can easily size it for you,” the jeweler said.

“I don’t want to take it back off,” Bree said as she looked up to me.

With a slight laugh, I replied, “How big is it?”

“Not that big.”

“Then we’ll get it sized at a later date.”

She held her hand up against her heart and beamed at me. “Your turn!”

I laughed. “You pick out your favorites.”

“What metal do you want, sir?” the jeweler asked.

Looking at Bree, I shrugged. “How about platinum.” The only reason I suggested it was because I’d overheard Aiden talking about his ring, and it was platinum.

Bree picked out three different bands.
