“You don’t need to hope. That’s how it’s going to be,” he reassures me.

“I know, but we’ve been locked away. Soon we have to go back to our lives.” The snow has been melting, and I’m pretty sure I heard the phone ring early this morning. I actually think it’s what woke me.

“I’m looking forward to that.” He rolls us over while keeping his cock inside of me. I can’t help the moan that leaves me.

“Yeah, we should probably get you to a doctor, because you being hard this much isn’t normal,” I laugh.

“I’m sure if the doctor sees my wife he’ll understand.” His brows pull together, and an irritated expression takes over. “Then I might have to fight him for checking out my wife.”

A laugh bubbles from me. “You’re crazy.”

“Crazy for you.” He leans down, claiming my mouth in a slow lazy kiss, taking his time.

“I love when you call me your wife. I’m not opposed to skipping over the whole fiancée thing.”

“Another reason to get back to the rest of the world. So I can marry you.”

“I want to rush to city hall, but I want a small wedding too.”

My parents' wedding pictures are something that I hold near and dear to my heart. I want to see them up on the walls of our home together.

“We can do anything you want, Bri. As long as you're my wife, that’s all I care about.” He pulls back, and when his cock slips free, I can feel his release running down between my legs. “My mom will be happy if we give her some kind of wedding.”

“Did you just pull out of me to finish that thought?” I laugh, thinking I already know the answer.

“I’m not talking about my mom with my cock inside you. It’s wrong on so many levels.” A fit of giggles leaves me, and I realize I haven’t laughed this much since before I lost my parents.

Wilder really is healing me.

He springs from the bed before making a grab for me. I squeal as he tosses me over his shoulder and smacks my ass as he carries me into the shower.

“What if your mom doesn’t like me?” I ask.

“Natalie loves you, so my mom will too. You’re impossible not to love.” He puts me down on my feet inside the shower before he pulls me under the spray. “You’re going to tell me what you and my sister talked about.”

“She didn’t have to say much. I knew the second I left it was a mistake, but I wanted to talk to Grams. I was so scared of falling in love with you and what it would do to me if I lost you one day.”

“You’ll never lose me.”

“I believe you’d never willingly leave me but—”

“Bri—” He tries to cut me off, but I put a finger over his mouth so he stops talking.

“It doesn’t matter. I’m too far gone already. There’s no leaving you because I was past the point of no return when you walked into the store.” A smile pulls at his lips. “Grams also reminded me that my parents taught me what great love is. To walk away from that kind of love is a smack in the face to everything they spent their lives showing me. I am their love.”

“You are.” His hands cup my face. “Add now you’re my love, and I need you, Bri.”

“You have me,” I tell him. “I’ll never walk away again. I shouldn’t have. You lost your father so you understand my pain, and I know your parents loved each other the same as mine did.”

“Yes, but you lost both your parents. I still have my mom and my twin and Connor. I get why you were freaked out, and I’ll never hold that against you because I’m not that kind of man. I’ll always give you what I think you need because I love you and vow to always take care of you.”

I wrap my body around him and hold him close. “I love you.”

“I love you, too.” He presses his mouth against my neck, trailing kisses along my jaw before he turns and washes every inch of me. I do the same for him, showing him that I can be the best lover and partner ever.

“I’m starving,” I say when we’re done in the shower and searching for clothes—something we haven’t been wearing much of lately.

“Sorry, you distracted me this morning.” He nips at my bottom lip before he pulls one of his sweaters down over my head. “I’ll be better.”

“Why are you sorry? You’re going to feed me now, and I enjoyed my orgasms.”

“Because I take care of what’s mine, and you’re mine.” He leans in and brushes his mouth against me. His hand slips up under my sweater to rest on my stomach. “You also might be eating for two.”
