“Are you sure, Steed? Tripp, your take on this? You’re sure? Mitchell? Okay, so it’s all safe? The baby can’t feel me jabbing her head or anything?”

“Okay, that’s it,” I said as I climbed off the bed and headed into the bathroom. By the time I’d peed and pulled on a T-shirt that was on Trevor’s sink, the mood was completely gone.

When I stepped into the bedroom, Trevor was lying on the bed, a sexy smile on his handsome face. It took everything I had to walk past him.

“The baby can’t feel me. Mitchell said Merit moved all the time during sex. We’re good to go.”

I lifted a brow. “Good to go?”

He nodded. “Yep. You want on top so you can come faster?”

Placing my hands on my hips, I glared at him. “I don’t want your penis anywhere near me. Not against me, not in me, not within five feet of me.”

Trevor sat up. “Why? What did I do?”

“What did you do? What did you do?”

Throwing my hands in the air, I screamed in frustration and stormed out of the bedroom and directly to the kitchen. I needed ice cream, maybe another Snickers bar.

“Scarlett! Wait!”

Trevor was behind me in an instant, bringing me to a stop right before I reached the kitchen. That was twice this evening he’d blocked me from something I really needed and wanted.

“Okay, so maybe I shouldn’t have called my brothers, but that freaked me out.”

I closed my eyes and slowly shook my head. “You should have talked to me, Trevor. I’ve read every pregnancy book I could get my hands on. I’ve read about sex during pregnancy. We can have sex, and it’s not going to hurt the baby. She may move around and that’s okay. I get it that you had a moment of panic, but your first reaction was to call all your brothers at once? That was a bit extreme, don’t you think?”

He nodded. “It was, but this is new territory for me. I’m sorry.”

My shoulders sagged, and I leaned into him.

With a sigh, I said, “I’m embarrassed, Trevor. I don’t even want to go out to eat anymore.”

“What? No! Let me make it up to you. Come on, let me give you what you want.”

It was hard to resist this man. It always had been, and I knew it always would be. Between the blue eyes and that body of his, I was screwed.

“Fine, but I want two orgasms!”

He laughed and picked me up. Carrying me back to our bedroom, he made sweet love to me and not only gave me two orgasms but added in a bonus round. By the time we left for dinner, very late, I was in an orgasmic-induced bliss. I quickly forgot all about Trevor’s freak-out.

Trevor and I walked up to the entrance of La Madia. My stomach growled, and the baby gave a good little kick. Gummy Bear was getting stronger every day and that was evident in the frequency and strength of the kicks.

“You hungry, Scarlett?” Trevor asked, his hand on my lower back, leading me through the door to the hostess.

“I’m starving.”

“Is that you or the baby’s stomach?”

“Gummy Bear really wants some lasagna.”

Trevor chuckled, and the hostess smiled as she glanced between the two of us.

“Welcome to La Madia! The newest restaurant here in our little growing town of Oak Springs!”

Wow, this girl puts the P in peppy.

“Hi there!” I said, in an equally excited voice.

“Reservations, I hope? It’s a busy day today.”

Trevor replied, “Parker for two.”

“Okay, um, I have a few reservations for Parker for two.” She blushed.

“Trevor, and do me a favor, put us the farthest away from the other Parkers.”

She frowned. “Bad blood?”

I attempted to hide my laugh.

“Well, since Cord got out of jail, he hasn’t been the same. A little moody, if you know what I mean.”

My eyes widened just like the hostesses.

“Then you’ve got Mitchell, he’s the one you have to look out for. He was a cop. He says he quit, but we think he’s now doing undercover Secret Service, involved in the types of things that no one wants to talk about.”

“I know him! He used to come talk to our high school!”

Trevor shrugged. “Don’t let the charm fool you.”

She grabbed two menus while motioning for us to follow her. When she turned her back, I hit Trevor in the stomach.

“What are you doing?” I whispered.

“Having fun. It’s what we do.”

Sighing, I shook my head. “I’ll never understand this family.”

We were tucked back into a corner that was pretty much secluded from the rest of the restaurant.

“Here is the table you requested, Mr. Parker.”

I rolled my eyes. This girl had actually listened to his plea to be far away from everyone.

“Thank you, and one last thing, if Steed Parker shows up, I’ll give you a hundred bucks to tell him and his wife that the special for tonight is goat.”
