“I have something to tell you two,” he said. “Now’s as good a time as any, I guess.”

Tory and Devon looked at each other, then back at Con. “Shoot,” Devon said.

“Next Monday is Valentine’s Day.”

Butterflies flitted around in Tory’s stomach at the reminder. Valentine’s Day. Crap. She didn’t have a clue what she was supposed to get Con and Devon. It was bad enough with one guy to think about. She had two, for crying out loud! “I’ll be honest, I have no idea what I’m getting either of you.”

Con winked. “What you just gave us works for me.”

“Ditto, sugar.”

Tory rolled her eyes. “Whatever. You were saying?”

“What would you two say to a trip to Cancun? Sun, surf and lots of hot, sweaty sex.”

For a moment Tory was speechless. “Seriously?”

Con stepped away from the dresser and came toward her. “I’ve already booked the room and bought the plane tickets.” Once he was within inches of the bed, he murmured, “We’ll leave Friday and come back late Sunday. Two days in a tropical paradise. What do you say?”

“Con, we should’ve talked about this”, Devon warned.

Con frowned over at Devon. “What’s there to talk about? You said yourself you were taking a personal day on Friday, so it’s not like you’ll be missing work.”

Devon stood and, unless Tory missed her guess, he looked ready to blow a gasket. “That’s not the point, damn it.”

Con pushed a hand through his hair. “Then what the hell is the point?”

“Did you

ever stop to consider I might want to plan this with you?” Devon pointed to Tory and growled, “She’s not yours, Con, she’s ours.”

Uh-oh. Tory didn’t like the direction this little discussion was going. “Uh, guys?”

Con ignored her. “I don’t need the reminder. I figured this would be a fun trip for all of us.”

“That’s the problem, you figured.” He pointed back and forth between the two of them. “We should’ve worked together on this.”

Con took a step toward Devon and fired back, “To hell with that. I don’t need your damn permission to take Tory to Cancun.”

“We both love Tory and we both want her to be happy. She’s not going to be happy if we’re fighting over her like she’s a damn dog treat!”

“Stop it!” Tory yelled. Both men went silent, twin expressions of shock on their faces as they stared at her. “You two are being ridiculous.”

Con cursed and turned away. Something was eating at him, but she had no idea what it could be.

Tory scooted off the bed, the sheet wrapped tight around her, and went to him. She placed a hand on his shoulder and nearly moaned at the hard muscle beneath her fingers. “What is it, Con? Talk to me.”

He stiffened. For a moment Tory was afraid he wouldn’t answer. When he turned, forcing her to drop her hand, and blasted her with the full intensity of his silver gaze, her blood heated. “It’s nothing, baby.”

She smacked him on the chest. “It’s not nothing. You’re upset. Why?”

He sighed and shook his head. “It’s a hell of an adjustment, this relationship of ours.”

Her stomach bottomed out. “Is it me?” What if he were getting tired of her?

He frowned. “Huh?”

“She thinks you’re losing interest in her, you idiot.”
