“Well, that was one way for her to find out about us,” he finally says.

“Yeah.” I laugh, covering my chest back up since the moment has been ruined. “I should probably go talk to her.”

“Okay.” Alec drops his hands to either side of my head and presses his mouth to mine. “But when you’re done, we’re moving your stuff into my room.”

It takes me a second to understand what he’s talking about, but when I do, I shake my head. “No way, it’s too soon. I’m moving into Georgia’s room with her.”

Alec eyes me for a brief moment, as if he’s trying to think of his argument.

“Fine,” he finally says with a shrug. “You want to share a closet with her, so you can tell yourself we’re taking this slow, have at it, but you’ll be in my bed every. Single. Night.”

Alec

“There.” I drop onto the bed in Chase’s new room. “Everything has been moved out and into Georgia’s room.” I shoot Lexi a mock-glare, and she giggles. She can laugh all she wants, but there’s no way she’s spending a single night in bed with her sister instead of with me—at least not on the nights I’m home. If she wants to share a bed with her when I’m on shift, she’s more than welcome to. But the nights I’m home, her warm body will be wrapped around mine—just like she was last night.

“Maybe we should get him a more manly comforter,” Georgia suggests, glancing around the room. Since Georgia already has furniture, we left all of Lexi’s in here for Chase. All we did was move his clothes, which were shoved into the corner of the living room, into his new room. The girls hung them up and folded them neatly into the drawers.

“It’s a room and has a comfortable bed. Chase won’t give a shit about the color of the comforter.” I stand and pull Lexi into my arms, fucking stoked that I get to touch her and kiss her and hold her whenever I want now. “Want to grab something to eat?”

“Sure,” she says, pecking me on my lips. I want to drag her to my room so I can continue exploring her body, but I hold back—there will be plenty of time for that.

“Georgia, want to ask Robert to join?” she asks her sister.

“He’s still at work,” Georgia says. “And I have homework to get done before class tomorrow. You guys go ahead.”

“You sure?” Lexi asks.

“Yeah, but if you want to bring me home something, I won’t stop you.” Georgia smiles, then exits the room.

“Since it’s late, we can just grab something at the pier,” Lexi suggests.

“Sounds good.”

It’s a nice night, so we jump into Lexi’s jeep. The beach is only a short drive from where we live, and a few minutes later, we’re parking.

“I’m starved,” Lexi groans, taking my hand in hers. I glance down at our joined hands, loving how easy it was, once we gave in, for us to move from best friends to more. It’s only been a few hours, but her taking my hand tells me she isn’t second-guessing shit.

We place two orders of fish and chips then find an empty table. Lexi sits next to me and I pull her into my arms, kissing her while we wait. Now that I’ve knocked down that wall, and I know I get to have her this way, I can’t fucking get enough of her.

“Lexi?” a gruff voice says from behind us.

We both turn and find Jason standing there with his board in his hands. He’s in his wetsuit, the top half unzipped and pulled down to his waist. He must’ve just come up from surfing.

“Hey,” Lexi says slowly.

“What’s this?” Jason asks, nodding toward us. It’s obvious by the way we’re sitting what this is, so I’m assuming he’s asking out of shock not ignorance.

Lexi tries to pull her hand out of mine, and when I tighten my grip, she whips her head back around and glares. “I need to talk to Jason real quick,” she says, her tone even. “Can you give me a minute?”

Not wanting to be a possessive dick, I nod, but when my eyes land on Jason, who’s glaring my way, I can’t help myself.

Holding on to her hand, I pull her face toward mine and kiss her hard. My tongue pushes past her parted lips and I devour her. The kiss is short, but my point is made.

When the kiss ends, Lexi sighs in contentment, and then, as if her foggy head has suddenly cleared, she pulls her hand back and her mouth forms a flat line. “Not cool, Alec.”

“Maybe not.” I shrug. “But he needs to know you’re mine.” I lean in and press my mouth to hers. “And I’m yours.”

“When you say shit like that, it’s hard to be mad at you.”
