She’d save that argument for another day.

They all walked up her small driveway to find Greg pulling up her flower pots and setting them down, muttering to himself.

“Greg? What are you doing?”

She’d moved a lot of her pots over to Duke’s place and he’d even dug her up a garden in the back for more flowers.

Greg stood and whirled, his eyes widening as he saw her. Then his mouth dropped open as he spotted Duke and the others.

“Sunny?” He ran his gaze over her. “What the hell are you wearing?”

She glanced down at her cut-off shorts and tight tank-top. She thought she looked cute and she knew that Duke definitely thought her outfit was sexy.

“Clothes,” she replied dryly. “Now, mind telling me why you’re here? And looking for the key to my house, I’m guessing?”

He looked disheveled. His suit was messy, almost dirty and his hair was sticking up as though he’d been running his fingers through it repeatedly.

She’d never seen him this way. He was always impeccably dressed and put together.

“You always keep a key out here. Where is it?”

“I don’t keep a key out here anymore, Greg. Even if I did, you have no right to just waltz on inside. This is my house. What are you doing here?”

“I need more money,” he said frantically. “From the house. You got it from me for a steal and I want more money.”

She narrowed her gaze, placing her hand on Duke’s arm as he stepped forward. “Let me.”

Greg’s gaze moved from her hand to Duke. “What the fuck is going on here? What are you doing with my wife?”

“I’m not your wife, Greg,” she said firmly. “And Duke is none of your business.”

“Duke? Seriously? You’re fucking a gang member now?”

Anger filled her. “Leave Greg. Now. You’re not getting more money from me. You were paid a fair price for your share of the house.” Why did he want to get inside, anyway? It made her feel uneasy, wondering if he’d been going to wait and ambush her.

“I fucking paid the mortgage!”

“We both did and you know it,” she snapped back. “I don’t know why you were trying to get into the house, but you need to leave.”

“I want to check that there’s nothing in there that’s mine.”

She frowned. “Everything was settled in the divorce. Nothing in there is yours anymore.”

“There might be! There’s got to be something I can sell!”

“Greg, need to leave. Before I call the police.”

He sneered. “Maybe I’ll call them now, tell them I’m being harassed by a gang.”

Duke snorted. “We’re not a gang, douchebag. And you’re the one fucking trespassing.”

“Screw it, I’m going to go call them now. Before our lunch gets cold.” She turned away, to head back next door.

“Wait, no, Sunny, don’t! I’m broke!”

She turned back. “What? How?”

He ran his fingers through his hair. “I don’t know. It’s all gone. Disappeared a week ago. The bank keeps saying that I did it, but I fucking didn’t! Then I got a letter in the mail thanking me for my large donation to a charity for foxes in freaking England. Someone stole my money and donated it in my name to a fox charity. Who the fuck would do that?”
