“I’ll take it to go.” Fuck I really wanted to see my girl, but that’s okay I’m not giving up. I will make her mine soon enough.
Chapter Seven
Tiffani
I have been avoiding Cameron for the last two weeks. After our night together, I may have freaked out a little. I left Matt's house and got a cab back to Jules place in the middle of the night. I ran like a bat out of hell before I thought everything through. It’s not like I can go back up to him and say that though.
So, I have just been avoiding him. It seemed like a good plan to me, except I’ve been missing him like crazy. I have been in the back making Jules’ chocolate shoe all morning when I hear the bells on the front door open.
I know Matt is supposed to be here, so I make my way up front only to stop short when I see Cameron standing there.
“Sweetness, you have been avoiding me for the past two weeks.”
I feel my cheeks turn pink, but I just blame it on me working in the kitchen all morning.
“I have no idea what you're talking about.” I straighten my spine and walk to the counter. “Is there something I can get you?”
“Yes Sweetness, I’ll take you and a date Friday.” He gives me that panty-melting smile
“Uh no?” I say more as a question than an answer
“Come on Sweetness. Just one date and if you don’t enjoy yourself we don't have to go back out promise.” I am about to say something when the door opens, and Matt walks in. Thank you, Jesus, for small favors. A few minutes later Cameron leaves promising me he’ll be back.
That was three days ago, and I haven’t seen him since. Maybe I finally pushed him away? Or did he find someone else? Or perhaps I should just go see him? Yeah, I can do that, I think to myself as I roll out some dough.
“Hey Sorellina, how are you?”
I scream out as, Anthony, my oldest brother, scares the shit out of me.
“What the fuck Tony! How the hell did you get in here anyway?” I yell as I hold my hand over my heart. I swear to God I almost pissed my pants.
He starts laughing.
“Shut up buttface.” I scold as I walk around him and into the front part of the shop. We've been at a steady pace for the last hour, and I have been in the back whipping up some treats.
“What no hug for your fratello?”
“Depends. Why are you here?”
“What, a brother can’t come say hi to his little sister?”
“Ha! Why are you really here?”
“Ma and the twins wanted to come down and see you, but I told them that I would come down. Figured I would keep the wolves at bay for a little while longer.” He says with a shrug like it isn’t a big deal.
“Oh my God! See this is why you are my favorite. Thank you.”
I run over to him and give him a big hug. I hear a sound that sounds distinctly like an animal growling and let go of Anthony looking around his huge body. I see Cameron standing there with a beautiful woman and a baby. Oh my God! Cameron has a baby and not just any baby. He is the cutest baby I have ever seen.
When he walks closer to us, I feel myself flush, and my heart beat faster. I look over to Anthony when he goes still. He is starting at the woman with Cameron and then the baby like he has just seen a ghost. She is looking at him like a deer caught in the headlights, and we all are just standing there staring at each other until the baby in Cameron’s arms claps his hands and starts laughing. “Damdam, nonuts.”
“Hold on little man I want you to meet Tiffani. Can you say Tiffani?”
“Nini.” My heart gets all gooey.
“Awe. Yes, Tiffani.”
“Nini, nonuts?”
