When she gets him, she tickles his belly before kissing him all over his face. He gives kisses and then holds his hands up for me to hold him again. Grabbing him, I put him back on my hip.
“Ready to go bud?”
“Ya,” He squeals and claps his hands.
“I’ll help you get him out to the car.”
“Thanks, sis.”
When we are all situated in the truck, she hands me his bag.
“I’ll have him back by eleven okay?”
“Perfect.”
“I’ll bring you a treat when I drop him off.”
“You going to Peterson’s?”
“Of course. Like I would go anywhere else.”
It’s my turn to look at her with my duh face. Laughing she shuts my door, and we’re on our way to see my little Spitfire.
It takes us about an hour before we get there and it’s busy as fuck. I have to park in the back, and it takes some maneuvering to get him out of his car seat. AJ starts talking up a storm on our way up to the entrance at Petersons.
I always wondered why an Italian family would have a bakery called Peterson's but a couple months ago
I asked Mr. G why and he told me it was for his wife’s fratello that died when he was just a baby.
His accent is so thick that it took me two months to actually understand what he was saying, and his constant use of Italian words had me using Google for the first four months that I came here.
When I walk in, I wait about five minutes before I am in the front of the line. When I get up to the counter, I see pops, and he gives me a huge grin. “Cameron, how are you mio caro ragazzo? What happened to you? You brought AJ this time, how is Charlee?”
“Hey Mr. G. I fell through a roof. All part of the job, you know? Charlee is doing great she told me to bring her whatever is new.”
“Fottere that had to of hurt. Why must you have such dangerous job? You come cook for me. You only have to worry about eating too many sweets.”
He says as he gets AJ a couple donut holes and grabs my eclairs.
Laughing, I shake my head “Hey Mr. P, is Tiffani here?
“You met my bambina.”
“Uh… yeah, we met the other day. Jules is my best friend's girl.”
“Jules has a man?” He asks with a raised brow. Oh, shit well I guess the cats out of the bag.
“They have only been seeing each other a couple days, but Matt is totally head over heels.”
“He better be good to her.”
“Don’t worry I’ll kick his ass if he isn’t.”
“My bambina hasn’t been in today, but she’s working on getting her shop up and running. The last I heard she was up at Jules place.”
“Oh, okay well when you see her can you tell her I said hi?”
“Of course, of course. I gave Charlee a lemon blueberry scone. Are you staying or going?”
