And when he collapses on top of me, I don’t hesitate to wrap my arms around him and just bask in everything that we’ve just shared. For the first time in my life, I feel… free, and all these emotions and feelings are exploding inside me like they are living entities.

I could cry. I could scream out that I was lucky and alive and… happy.

I was happy, and I was like that with Ride.

He said he won’t let me go. Good, because I never plan on leaving.Epilogue OneRide

One Year LaterI stretch back on my bike, waiting as Langley walks toward me. She’s wearing jeans, a blue T-shirt, and the leather cut I gave her that proclaims her my property.

And she is.

Every fucking delectable inch of her is my old lady. The last year has flown by. I never took much notice of happiness before, because it didn’t factor into my life. But then I realize that until Langley, I was never happy. I just existed.

She struts over to me. There’s no other way to put it. My old lady has gotten comfortable in her skin, flourished in the love we’ve found. She’s also turned into one hell of a biker chick. She handled every challenge the club candy threw her way, and she put them in their place quickly. She’s formed bonds with the other old ladies, and fuck if it hasn’t been fun watching her grow—watching her carve herself a life here.

The best part about it is she’s happy. It shows on her face, in her actions, and definitely in the way she fucks me. What my woman wants, my woman gets, and that includes my cock. I give it to her every fucking chance I get.

“Hey, baby,” she says, smiling as she makes it to my bike.

“You’re running late,” I tell her, not really minding. Langley has me by the balls, not that I would tell her that. I’d wait for her forever.

“I was held up,” she says with a careless shrug.

“Is that a fact?” I ask, shaking my head. “You realize I got shit to do, babe?”

“Yeah,” she replies with a grin. “I realize it.”

“The nursing home has visiting hours. Mama Cora will give me hell because we’re late,” I remind her of something else she already knows.

“You like it when she gives you hell,” Langley responds, and I let out a long sigh.

She’s not wrong. I like the old woman, mostly because she loves Langley, and she’s a good woman. How someone like her could give birth to a fucking loser like Einstein, I will never know. In the past year, Cora has gotten stronger and is able to do a lot of things on her own. She stays in a long-term care facility now and she’s happy. She has people around her that are her own age, and she’s become addicted to Saturday night bingo. It helps that Langley and I make sure to visit her every weekend. I might have shit to do for the club, but I like taking Langley to see Cora. Besides, Langley shows her gratitude in the best fucking ways.

“I like the way you make it up to me when Cora gives me hell,” I qualify, making her laugh. “You gonna get on my bike or are you just going to stand there all day trying to bust my balls, baby?” I ask her.

“I don’t want to bust your balls, Ride,” she purrs, sliding on behind me. She settles in, wrapping her arms around my waist, kissing my back. “Besides, I have news that will make Mama so happy she won’t fuss a bit about the time.”

“Yeah? And what’s that?” I ask her, glancing over my shoulder, wondering just what she has up her sleeve.

“I’m just going to tell her the truth.” She shrugs, letting go of me and leaning back to allow me more room so I can turn at an angle to look at her.

“What’s that? That I fucked you so hard this morning you fell back asleep?”

“Well, we could tell her that, but I was going to go with the real reason.”

“Yeah?” I ask, confused.

“That I was taking a test,” she replies with a big smile, reaching into the pocket of her cut.

“A test?” I frown, wondering just what Langley is up to now. In the year we’ve been together, she’s been taking classes at the local college. She’s working on her accounting degree and she’s good. I’ve even let her take over handling the books for the club’s garage. Still, school is out for the summer. “You didn’t tell me you were taking a class. I thought you were taking the summer off?” Not that I care. If Langley is happy, I’m good with it. “Did you pass?”

“I didn’t tell you I was taking a class, because there isn’t one I’m taking this summer,” she says, and then she pulls out a slim, white stick and hands it to me. “And oh yeah, my test was completely positive.”
