That's Alexa's first impression of Edmund, the billionaire vampire who demands to use her as his muse.

Even the promise of handsome compensation isn't enough to induce her to put up with him, though as a single mother she could definitely use the money. But as she storms off, she finds herself in danger, and Edmund rides to her rescue.

Since he saved her life, she consents to model for him after all. And the more time they spend together, the more they discover they have in common, and the more their attraction grows.

But after the father of her son broke her heart, Alexa's sworn off men. No matter how strong her feelings for him, she knows she can't be with Edmund long term. And as a lonely bear shifter, she would only hamper his dream to return his clan to its former glory.

Edmund has other plans, though.
