I set off to cross the mountains into the Old Realm so that I could have the adventure of a lifetime…but I didn’t realize I might never return to the man I love.

When Dushka let me go off to the Old Realm to pursue my passion for healing, he bid me have as much fun as I could while away. I took him at his word, and my fun started almost as soon as I set off!

But having fun with new friends along the journey, and with my housemates once I arrived at Royersford Healers’ College, was only the beginning of an adventure I never could have planned for. Messing around is one way to become like brothers with my housemates, but living through the rise of a tyrant whose paranoia causes him to capture the entire Old Realm in his iron grip is another entirely.

I never intended to end up trapped in the Old Realm. I never intended to fall in love with one of my classmates either. But if it’s the last thing I ever do, I will climb the mountains to make it home to Dushka…and I’ll take Appius and the rest of my friends with me, even if we die in the process.
