“Considering being the operative word here.” I reminded him.

“That’s certainly better than a ‘no,’ so I’ll take it.” He took off his jacket and laid it over mine. “Now for that nightcap.”

He went to the well-stocked minibar and pulled out a full bottle of Irish Whiskey, a strange-looking bottle of something he called tea syrup, and limeade. He threw in some other ingredients, stirred it up and brought the dark yellow cocktail to me.

“It’s Irish punch, I thought Irish coffee might be too cliché,” he laughed as he served me the drink.

“How considerate,” I teased.

“So, what are our plans for the evening?” He stretched out and sat on the chair opposite me.

I was still standing, unsure of what I would do.

“Um, well…” Of course, we’d have sex, but he just served us drinks. Were we supposed to just dive right into it like we did that morning?

“Ha, my sparky girl is nervous, suddenly. No worries. Let’s have a chat before we hop into the sack, shall we? What would you like to know about your future role as queen?” Damn, he didn’t play around.

“If I were someone who wanted to be the queen of Ireland, I would want to know what I might have to do as queen. I doubt I’d sit on a throne all day. Would I be like Cersei Lannister plotting and planning to have people killed? Do you still keep the audience in a throne room?” Inwardly I laughed at my naive and archaic understanding of royalty in Europe.

“We have a throne room, which is more like an ornate boardroom where we have very tedious meetings. You can’t plan to have people killed; for one, it’s a public relations nightmare and secondly, even the queen of Ireland can find herself in prison for such a thing. We do reach out to the kingdom usually through televised addresses and speeches. Your main role will be as consort to the king. We will do charity work, meet with people and try to keep peace among those who live in our great land.”

Suddenly, it all seemed overwhelming so I took a sip of my drink instead of pondering what I might be getting myself in to. “This is delicious,” I made a conscious digression from our conversation.

It didn’t go without notice. “It is. So, have I answered all of your questions? Do you have others?” He was way too enthused by this.

“Will our children be citizens of the United States?” It was a stupid question but important.

“They will be Irish citizens, but we may be able to apply for dual citizenship when they are older. Again, this is a question for the Privy Council. There will be plenty of time to get acquainted with our customs and the way the monarchy is run.” His bravado chilled out some as he asked, “May I ask you a few questions?”

“Sure, hit me with them.” I took another big gulp of my drink, already feeling its effects.

“I hope you don’t take offense, but if my security team were to do a background check would they find anything unsavory in your past?” I couldn’t help but be offended, but I understood the question, he didn’t know me, I could have tons of skeletons in my closet and bones under my bed, what did he know?

“Apart from a wicked library fine, which I just paid off, my record is squeaky clean.” I flashed him a brilliant smile.

“That’s excellent news.” He was back to being broad-shouldered and boastful again.

He finished his drink and so I did the same, then glanced at the clock. It was already almost one in the morning; we sure liked our late nights.

“It’s getting late,” I noted, trembling a little, thinking of what going to bed would really mean for me.

“You ready to get into bed?” His expression heated up really quickly as he stood and I could see he was already aroused.

“I’m not sure I’m ready for that,” I teased looking over at his cock.

His lusty grin turned to a smirk. “Don’t worry, I’ll get you good and ready.”

“Oh, I hope so.” If we were doing this, I figured, we should just do it. I hadn’t made a decision, so it might be the last sex I’d have with Liam. I intended on enjoying it.

“Let’s get you out of that dress. I’ve been dreaming of taking it off of you all night.” He moved closer to me and as he neared, I became instantly aroused. He did crazy things to my body, just being in the same room with him had me all hot and bothered.

“I rather thought I’d sleep in it,” I used the best pretend British accent I could muster.

“Oh, did you, now?” He, in turn, pretended to use an American accent. “Well, little darlin’, folks ‘round here don’t sleep in their evening gowns, they take them off so that prince charming can sweep them off their feet.” With that, he lifted me into his arms and threw me gently onto the bed. “Don’t worry about taking off the dress ma’am.” He continued to use his silly accent. “I’ll do it for you.”
