I saw her bite her lip, and I could see the ‘fuck you’ blaze in her eyes, but she remained poised.

“Are you going to kill me?” she asked quietly.

“Death is not always the worst thing that can be done to someone,” I answered.

I scooped her up and cradled her in my arms without hesitation.

“You can’t walk in there. The ground’s covered in nails, rusted metal, and other jagged debris.”

She didn’t resist or fight me. She simply turned her head to stare out ahead as I walked toward the building. Yes, she was submissive for now… or she was putting on one hell of a show that she was.

“Bring the car around the west side,” I called over my shoulder to Vinny. I needed to be careful that there were no signs of life around Jumping Jack. A lot had to happen, and I didn’t need any unwanted guests or trouble.

Chapter Five

Nayla Bell

Decades of rust and dirt marred the iron beams of the interior. Glass windows had been shattered many years ago, causing the rays of sunlight casting in to appear jagged on the layers upon layers of age and neglect. Bright colors of graffiti surrounded us, though there were no signs of human life to have created such artwork. There was no visible garbage around. It was as if the place had been cleaned by the ghosts themselves.

With coal and decay crunching under Eddie’s boots, I was happy that he wasn’t making me walk over all of it. He had no issues with causing pain to other parts of my body, but oddly felt the need to protect my feet. I wasn’t comfortable, however, being carried in his arms. The close proximity to my captor shredded my emotions. On one hand, I wanted to flee, fight, and scratch the man’s eyeballs out. But then on the other hand, the warmth of his body against my chilled, exposed skin made me want to snuggle in closer. The way that he carried me was the act of a gentleman, yet the fact that I was nude and being brought to an abandoned power plant against my will was the act of a monster. And the monster smelled good. He smelled really, really good. His spicy cologne mixed with the aura of his manliness lured my senses to him whether I liked it or not.

Staircases crumbled around us, and open walkways above our heads seemed to lead to nothing but mass destruction. Every step Eddie made echoed off the walls of the metal and concrete.

Eddie marched on with a purpose and an obvious destination. I glanced around and wondered if there would be any escape if I were to ever get a chance to run. There were eerie skeletons of old vehicles all around that could give me a place to hide if need be, but the wide-open space would make it nearly impossible to reach any hiding place before being spotted.

The rafters above us creaked, and the wind blowing in through the broken windows whistled through the missing bolts of collapsed beams. The building alone was enough to terrify me. It felt as if we had just entered the mouth of a beast and were about to be devoured.

I wanted to ask why we were here of all places. Surely Eddie Vasco had a penthouse somewhere in the city. With his kind of wealth, it was pretty safe to assume he had several places he resided. He also had the ability to fly us to any destination in the world. So why would he take me to a beat down, nearly destroyed, empty shell relic? I wanted to ask, but my throbbing ass prevented me from doing so in fear that he would punish me for asking too many questions or coming off as demanding answers again. I needed time to regroup, and the fact that I was naked in a man’s arms moments after he had had his finger inside of me bringing me unwanted pleasure…

Well, my head was fucked up right now.

We reached a dead end with nothing but a sliding metal door in front of us. Eddie placed me down gently and glanced at me with a severe look. “Try to run, and I’ll catch you.”

I wasn’t going to run. Not yet. Not until I figured out a plan that wouldn’t land me over his damn knee again, or dead.

Eddie yanked on the door with an obvious amount of strength needed to open it. I just stood there and watched as the veins in Eddie’s neck strained, and the color of his face reddened as he did so. He still had dried blood in the corners of his nose, and I took great pride in knowing that I had caused it.

The cold air of the room sent shivers through me. There was a part of me that wanted to try to conceal my nudity, but at this stage, did it really even matter? Eddie had seen every part of my body, and it wasn’t like me covering my sex with my hands or something of that nature would do any good.
