My hips bucked, and I pushed hard and fast right from the beginning. I rammed my dick inside her like she could handle it, like she was a whore who did this for a living. Her moans turned to screams, and that spurred me on even more.

She held on to my arms as an anchor and rocked with my movements, her tits flying toward her chin and then back again. She was living with me for the foreseeable future, rent-free and with access to anything she wanted, but she was paying for it every night by doing this, by letting me be the only man who got to enjoy her.

She always made the sexiest expressions when she came, when her eyes suddenly looked blank like she was staring into the heavens. Then she bit her bottom lip like she was trying to stay quiet even though no one could hear us.

I watched her performance and felt my dick explode inside her. Like a volcanic eruption, I felt the lava in my veins before the big explosion out of my dick. I came inside her with a groan, giving her all of my seed like I did every other day. I filled her completely so she would have it with her all day at work the following afternoon. Maybe when she ate lunch, she would feel the weight right between her legs as it dripped into her thong.

I kept thrusting even though I was finished, feeling my own come move past my length as I rocked back and forth. When the high finally seeped from my veins, I looked down at the woman who slept in my bed every night, the innocent virgin who had become my biggest obsession. “Fulfilled?” I started to pull out of her so I could clean up and go to sleep.

Her nails dug into my arms, and she pulled me back. “Not quite…”

I was relieved Simone was out of the picture, but I also pitied Coen at the same time. My interactions with Coen had been limited, but it was obvious in that short amount of time that he was heartbroken and humiliated.

Couldn’t blame him.

But I was proud of Slate for being the bigger man and supporting his brother. He could turn his back and ignore his brother’s pain, but he didn’t. He hid his heart deep inside his chest, but he still extended that olive branch. He protected his younger brother then picked up the pieces of his broken heart. What Coen did to his own brother was unforgivable, but Slate was still there anyway.

It made me look at Slate in a brand-new way.

I always knew he had a heart underneath that slab of stone. He paid me for sex, but he also took care of me. He was my rock when everything else fell apart. When someone stole all my possessions, he came to the rescue. He wasn’t just the man I was sleeping with, he was also my friend.

I still hadn’t found a new place to live because Slate vetoed everything I picked out. He always said the neighborhood wasn’t nice enough and I needed to move closer to Midtown, but he didn’t seem to understand that I had a tiny budget. Unless I lived with five women in a two-bedroom apartment, there was no way I could live five minutes from my office.

When I came home from work, I walked in the door to see Coen on the other side. He was dressed in a black suit and tie like he’d just left the office. He’d been scrolling through his phone when I joined him. He slipped it into his pocket then looked at me, hollowness in his eyes. His wedding ring was still on his left hand—and that was the saddest part of all. “Hey, Coen. How was work?”

“It was alright.” He tried to give a slight smile, but it looked like a grimace instead. “My mother has been blowing up my phone constantly, but I’m not ready to face her yet.”

“She’s not going to put you down, Coen.” Elizabeth would never do such a thing. She didn’t like Simone, but she wouldn’t let Coen feel stupid for the idiotic decision he made. She would comfort him—the way Slate did.

“Still…I don’t want to deal with her disappointment.”

“No offense, but they were already disappointed when you married her. Now they’ll just be relieved.”

The corner of his mouth rose in an insincere smile. “I guess you’re right. I made an idiot out of myself in front of the whole world—and I embarrassed my own family. I wish I could take it back…”

“You didn’t embarrass your family. They just want you to be happy—with the right person.” I hung up my satchel by the door and came farther into the room. I crossed my arms over my chest and looked at the man who seemed so similar to his brother. They had the same facial structure, the same eyes, and the same standoffish attitude.
