“The Olins have always had a knack for dramatics,” Elijah quips.

“Where the fuck is Malia, Omen?” Caine hisses, still charging toward me.

I tilt my head to the side.

“Do you want to die today, Byrne?”

That is a loaded question. He has invaded my space like he is the king of this castle, Lion is within the walls, and so is Liam. None of this comes out with Caine Byrne on top, but simply buried six feet under, despite his father being a close friend and business partner. He broke my daughter’s heart and the only way you pay for that is through blood.

“Why are you here, Caine?” Elijah asks him, giving me a pointed look.

We need everyone we can get to look for Malia. While I would rather him do it on his side of the country and far from me, I could use his resources, his connections, to expand our search. But the question is, will he cause too much tension in a situation that is already panicked and desperate?

“Why the fuck else would I be here?” he growls. “Malia is missing and I’m going to help find her.”

Both Donovan and Breckin flip off the safety’s on their weapons, but Caine does not even flinch. Not that I expected it, but it would have warmed me a little to see him squirm, if only a little.

“I don’t see how you swinging your dick around will help find my sister, Byrne,” Donovan spits. “We don’t need you starting your bullshit when we have more important shit to deal with right now.”

Spoken like a true Olin. Caine’s hard gaze locks onto mine, his jaw clenching as Donovan pushes his gun into Caine’s head. Donnie Boy has officially lost the plot. I always knew he had it in him. Somewhat.

Caine scoffs, then brings his hands up as if he is surrendering. I raise an eyebrow and push off my desk to step closer to him.

“I did not come here to startbullshit,“ he grinds out. “I’ll behave until we get Malia back.”

I come to a stop in front of him, taking in the look of panic in his eyes that he is trying to conceal .

“And what happens when we get her back?”

Caine’s sneer cracks into a malicious smirk.

“Then all bets are off.”

I hum, raising my hand to stop Breckin as he steps forward, likely to bury his bullet in Caine’s skull.

“We all have dreams, don’t we?”

Stepping back, I signal for Donovan and Breckin to put away their weapons. They hesitate, but finally flip on their safeties and lower their guns. Donovan tucks his away, while Breckin keeps his pointed at the ground, waiting for Caine to make a wrong move.

“We are going to have a meeting to set things straight,” I say to everyone in the room. “We need to establish boundaries so we keep our heads. If enemies are going to be allied with the same end goal, we need to make sure we do this for Malia without the nonsense getting in the way. Am I clear?”

No one agrees, but neither do they disagree.

“I will take your silence as agreement and will call those who are not here,” I say, looking everyone in the eye. “If you cannot handle being in a room together this will not work. Call it a test of your word, Byrne.”

Caine dips his chin in acknowledgment. Elijah pulls out his phone and sends Lion a text to come to my office. Donovan announces he will go grab Liam personally.

With everyone working together, we have a chance. But these men will have to put aside their differences and work together to find my daughter. Breckin and Liam already had it out this morning, Lion and Liam challenge each other constantly; adding Caine into the mix will surely cause disaster.

And I will not stand for it.

Liam

Aknocksoundsatthe door as I stand staring at the picture of Malia and Lion. I should just bite the bullet and ask The Omen if he has a picture of Malia by herself. Lion’s by far one of my least favorite people in this mansion, with Breckin Reynolds a close second. The last thing I want to do is look at my girl happy with another man; especially one I can’t stand. Doesn’t matter that they’re teenagers in this picture.

I toss the picture frame onto the bed and sigh, walking to the door and opening it. I come face to face with Donovan, and my brows pinch together in confusion. We’ve barely spoken and I have no idea what the man thinks of me and my relationship with his sister. Maybe this is where he tells me, like Lion, to fuck off and “you’re not marrying my sister.”
