“Sure. I’ll put them behind the bar.”
“Thanks,” he says with a suave smile that has the other woman looking like a deer in headlights. She flushes as she shoots me a look then scurries away, wheeling our suitcases with her.
Yeah,scurry off.
Still, not even my jealousy can get rid of the excitement that’s throbbing through my words as I demand, “What are we doing?”
“You’ll see. Here,” he orders, handing me the shot. “To you, beautiful.” He clinks the glasses and before I can say anything else, he shoots his back without even a shudder. I follow, feeling the pleasantly warm sting down to my stomach as I grab my root beer chaser. “Let’s go.”
He reaches for my arm as I notice the stripper on stage swaying back and forth with her top off. Not going to lie, I’m disappointed with this performance—anyonecould do that. Would it be bad to boo? That I don’t know tells me I’m beyond under the influence.
Cade walks us toward what looks like a black brick wall. He stops when another bouncer appears and opens a door for us. A ripple of excitement flutters inside me, warming up my cheeks as I step into the small room. It has a mirror on two sides, a chair, and a disco ball hanging from the ceiling.
Cade sits in the chair and pulls me onto his lap. “I figured that you were expecting something more like this.” His lips are at my ear as the door opens, and a brunette walks in wearing a sparkly pink dress with slits up both sides.
I wrap my arms around his neck and squirm on his lap. “Yes!”Something more enticing than a skewered baked potato on a rotisserie spit.
“Oh!” She looks at Cade, then me. “Hey.”
“Hi.” I smile at her, even though that weird feeling comes back.
I swear to God, her eyes lit up like she’s either seen Cade before or she knows him… Maybe heisa regular here?
I’m not sure I prefer that option, though.
Cade tips his chin up in greeting, but that’s it.
“Do you have a song you like?” Her voice breaks me out of my paranoia and has me focusing on her as she licks her gooey lips. She runs her long, pointy nails through her hair, preening...
For Cade.
My jealousy starts to flare.
“Do we?” Cade questions, his smirk deepening when he sees how flustered I am.
Well, I can’t deny that I didn’t expect a private dance! Especially one with a stripper whose both hot and interested in my man.
“Um, yes.Yes, we do.Please, play, ‘Kiss Me More’ by Doja Cat.”
Cade’s arms tighten around me as liquid heat travels from his hands to my core, making me squirm on his knee. I can feel his erection…
No sex in front of the stripper—bad Cindy.
“That’s the song you want?” he growls in my ear before lightly biting the lobe.
I shiver as the stripper types the song title into her phone.
“You want me to get another chair? I can give you both a dance.” Her eyes travel up and down my body.
“Nah, darlin’, she’s fine on my lap,” Cade informs her. Then, in my ear, he whispers, “I’ve got my show right here.”
The shivers that whisper down my spine are more of a thrill than when the song’s beat spills from the speakers. I’m pretty sure that I can feel the bass in my core, and when he presses a hand to my stomach, it’s as if he squeezes a groan out of me.
When she starts to sway, Cade wraps his hand around my throat. “You like watching her dance, beautiful?” He angles my head so that he can brush my lips with his. “Well?”
We both peek at her as she grinds to the melody but, again, she’s not that interesting.
Especially when Cade wraps his hand around my ponytail and uses it to bring my mouth down to his. I taste the alcohol, the root beer, but most of all, I taste him, and suddenly all I want is to get out of here. Get a hotel room and fuck him for days because this man is just it for me.
