“You’re in deep shit,” is all he says to me with a pat on the back, but in a cheerful tone, filled with amusement.
Am I?
Because to me, it looks like I’m avoiding it.
“Well, well, well,” I mutter as I notice Natalie enter the Fast & Fury custom garage. It’s been a couple of days since I’ve seen her last. She looks sexy in her work attire, not going to lie, and her presence commands the entire room. She’s strength and beauty wrapped in a fancy, powerful, figure-hugging white suit.
It’s clear that she’s gotten under my skin, but I’d never let her know that.
“What?” Aries asks me, lifting his head up from the motorcycle he was polishing. “Oh, fuck. Here we go again. She’s here as a customer, so don’t even think about being a dick to her.”
“As if I would,” I tell him quietly.
But the truth is, I really can’t see myself being nice to her.
I don’t know what it is about her, but all I want to do is push her buttons in every meaning of the word.
She infuriates me.
“She’s out of our league.” I love how he saysour.
“No one is out of our league,” I reply, smirking. “But don’t worry, I wouldn’t want to be with someone who has their fucking nose up in the air. That’s notmytype.”
“Fucking hell,” he mutters under his breath. “You’re an idiot, you know that?”
I grin, ignoring him, and head in Natalie’s direction.
Con comes out of nowhere and blocks me, standing in my way. “What are you doing?”
“I’m going to offer my exceptional customer service skills to that customer over there. Why?” I ask, not even looking at her as I keep my gaze firmly locked on my target.
“She doesn’t need your...help.”
“The hell she doesn’t,” I mutter.
“Natty is here to pick up a bike,” Con replies, crossing her arms over her chest with a surprised smirk on her face. “Cam is on it.”
“I know, she’s here to pick up Rake’s bike. The red-and-black Harley Cam just finished yesterday, right?”
“Yeah...” Con trails off as I walk by her.
“Well, look who jumped off her high horse to be here with us today,” I say to Natalie. She turns at my voice and sighs, green eyes narrowing.
“Funny, I was hoping that you wouldn’t be here today,” she replies, pursing her lips together.
“I’m always here,” I reply, flashing my teeth.
“That’s unfortunate. But luckily there are plenty of other wonderful people here to help me today,” she replies, tucking her hair back behind her ear. “So you can carry on being an asshole someplace else.” She makes a shooing motion with her hands.
“There are others here to help you, but none of them have a degree. Sorry, but maybe you should go somewhere else.”
“You are such a jerk—”
“And you are a pretentious little—”
Cam comes over, eying the two of us, paperwork in her hands. “Here is your receipt.”
“Thanks, Cam,” Natalie says to her, demeanor changing as she ignores me. “Dad is going to lose his shit when he sees it.”
