But now… I get to have all of her.

And I planned on taking advantage in about six minutes. Four to say our thanks and two to get her up to the room.

“Thank you, Drey,” Sarah said, hugging me. “For this. For…keeping yourself for me.”

“For us.”

“I now pronounce you husband and wife.”

Clapping started beside us. Evan and Rhonda were our witnesses. Two country folk who were born and raised in this small town. It went without saying I could trust them even though I’d known them fewer than twelve hours.

Hopefully they got the honeymoon suite ready without a problem. I wanted to have a nice surprise for my wife.

I spun Sarah around, then shook hands with the justice of the peace, who happened to be Rhonda’s uncle. It couldn’t have worked out better if I’d planned it.

I whisked Sarah into my arms, and we hollered out our goodbyes as I went to the stairs. Three flights. Top room. Total privacy.

“Where are we going?”

“You’ll see,” I said, setting her down. “Race ya.”

She took off after me, and her giggles were music to my ears. She deserved thoseandto be completely spoiled every single day from here on out.

I stopped at the top of the stairs. She looked at me, huffing, with curious eyes. I pushed open the door, and the room was bathed in light. Panoramic view of the frozen lake. The sun bounced off the smooth snow, and it looked like it went on forever.

“I’d wondered what this room was.” Sarah turned a circle. “This is awesome.”

“And ours, for two nights.” I came in behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. “Come here.”

I tugged her to the massive bathtub. “I see a soak in our future,” I whispered against her earlobe.

“Later.” She turned and hopped up, shackling me with her long legs. “Can I finally have you?”

“Yes.”

She kissed me with abandon, exploring deeper than she ever had. I stepped forward, pinning her against the wall, needing to feel more of her. Too bad I couldn’t wish her clothing away.

It’d been so long since I’d been with a woman. I wanted this to be great for Sarah, but…I wasn’t sure how long I’d last.

She pulled my shirt up from the back and leaned away to take it off as I held her propped to the wall…and to me.

“I’ve never…” She rained kisses along my neck. “Waited so long…” To my cheek. “To be with a guy.” She dove into my mouth full force. “It was frustrating…and awesome.”

“You deserve awesome,” I breathed against her lips. “Every. Single. Day.”

Her hands framed my face. Her lips were shiny and swollen, and her cheeks flushed. “I love you, Drey. You know that, right?”

“I do.”

“More than anything.” She ran her thumb along my bottom lip. “We’re in this together, right? For always.”

“For always.” I kissed her hard.

I meant it, too. Nothing and nobody would come between us. If I had to kill Nicco myself, fine. Nobody would ever hurt my Sarah again.

“Less clothing. Now,” she whispered.

“Anything to make the wife happy.”
