“I can’t stop this time.”

“Fuck.” I quicken my pace until the bed is banging against the wall. When I feel the telltale tingling in my spine, I slide my hand between us to find her clit.

“Come now,” I demand with a pinch.

She explodes with a scream. “Yes! Cedar!”

I don’t have time to appreciate how much I enjoy the sound of her shouting my real name while I’m inside her. I’m too busy coming myself.

“Fuck. Princess.”

I continue to thrust in and out of her until our climaxes subside. Spent, I collapse next to her before untying her hands.

She smiles over at me as I rub her wrists. “Friends with benefits is way better than just friends.”

We’ll be more than friends if I have anything to say about it. But I know better than to clue her in on my plans.

Diva scratches at the door before barking. I debate ignoring her, but she whines and I give in. I stand and rid myself of the condom before donning my jeans.

I open the door and Diva dashes into the room. She claws at the bed next to Cassandra who picks her up and places her on the mattress.

“You don’t mind, do you?” She bats her eyelashes at me. She knows full well and good I don’t want the dog in the bed.

I grunt in response. I can hardly say the little dog will be in the way when I wake in the middle of the night with a taste for her pussy. Diva looks at me and I swear she smirks.

I had to dare Cassandra to get a dog, didn’t I?

Chapter 17

If you tell people about your sexual fantasies, they have no reason to grill you about your sex life ~ Cassie’s sneaky rules for living with a bunch of busybodies

“Ican’t believe you’re going into town without being forced,” I tell Cedar as we walk toward Main Street where the Imbolc festival is happening.

“I’m kind of being forced. Or did you forget our dare?”

I motion toward Diva. “How could I forget?”

He throws his arm over my shoulders. “But aren’t you glad you have her now?”

“What is Imbolc anyway?” I ask because I’m not talking about how the dare ended up with me falling in love with a dog. He’s probably figured it out by now anyway.

“Didn’t you come to the festival last year?”

“Nope. My first pagan festival was Litha. It was pretty cool. I was crowned empress of Winter Falls for the day.”

“Of course, you were.” He chuckles. “Imbolc celebrates the start of Spring.”

My nose wrinkles as I indicate the snow on the street. “I think Mother Nature didn’t get the memo.”

“Don’t worry. This is Colorado. Tomorrow we’ll have sunny skies and a balmy fifty degrees.”

“Cassandra Claire Dempsey!” A voice booms as we turn onto Main Street.

I recognize the voice as Forest’s. He’s the owner ofUnleashedwho thinks the phrase let it all hang out should be taken literally. In other words, he’s a nudist. Or a half nudist I guess since he does prefer to wear a shirt.

“What’s up, Forest?” I ask when we stop in front of his pet store.

“How could you get a dog and not tell me?” He pouts.
