“Here’s how it works. For your first week you’ll shadow someone, to learn the things you’re not familiar with about Supernal. I think Tyler would be a good fit for you.”
“Sounds good.”
“Now, I’m assuming all your belongings are still in Vegas?”
He nodded. “Correct.”
“I can arrange to have people go there, pack up, and bring them here if you’re amenable?”
His brows shot to his hairline. “You’re going to have strangers go into my place, pack my things, and such?”
I couldn’t understand the issue. I’d think anyone would be grateful not to have to deal with the tedious task of packing and lugging to move across the country. “Yes?”
He chuckled. “I’ve got nothing to hide, but I do need to go back to Vegas to handle some quick affairs there. But I’ll take you up on the movers offer.”
I gave a curt nod. “Very well. You can stay the night and return to Vegas tomorrow. Can I expect you Monday?”
He narrowed his eyes. “I can make that happen, sure.”
“Wonderful. I will talk with Tyler, set a schedule, and when you return Monday, we can establish a plan to get you familiar with everything.”
“You got it.”
After the papers were signed and handed off to Dane, I told him I had a meeting to attend and to feel free to walk the grounds until dinner if he’d like.
When he’d left the room, I found myself taking a deep breath and sitting back in my chair. Crew Riley was like an explosion, and I hoped I could avoid the burn.

“It’s not ideal, Mr. Asher, and it truly is the best way to keep Supernal not at fault for Corey’s accident.”
I was currently sitting at my desk, Finn—who was in charge of PR—was across from me.
“I feel what Corey did was horribly irresponsible, but basically, you want to throw him to the wolves to save Supernal? Do I understand you correctly, Finn?”
“Sadly, yes. As it currently stands, Jermaine was a mere victim in this. A passenger unable to take control of the situation. Corey is being charged with reckless driving, property damage even though he only hit a barrier, hopefully we can get that dismissed, and few other little things.”
“He’ll feel abandoned, betrayed.” That is not what I wanted for any of my men, even when they did stupid things like speeding and crashing their car.
Finn clicked his pen and stared at something on his tablet before responding. “What about this. He will be out of your employ, but you can fund his care, perhaps get him therapy, rehab? He won’t feel abandoned if he sees you helping him, and your clients will see how important all the men here are to you.”
“Therapy? Corey has always seemed stable.”
Finn sighed. “That may be so, but he crashed his car, totaled it. He and Jermaine will be healing for a very long time. That in itself is traumatizing.”
I nodded, not only seeing Finn’s point, but agreeing with it. “I think that’s the route we should take then.”
“Very good, I’ll get on it right away.” He went to stand but I stopped him.
“One more thing. I have a new escort. Crew Riley. Dane did the background on him, nothing to worry about there. But we need to announce his arrival and such. He’ll be returning to Vegas tomorrow to tie up loose ends and then will shadow Tyler for a week. Could you handle the announcement?”
“No problem. If it’s all right, I would like to speak with him.”
“Of course. He’s touring the grounds now.”
“I’ll find him.”
“Thank you, Finn.”
