The guy visibly paled.
“Exactly. Honor and integrity. It’s a big deal to the Mykos Family. Did you know there is a room Papa likes to use for infractions against him? This way the mess is contained and easier to clean up. I have a key. Would you like to see the inside?”
“You wouldn’t.”
“I’ll give you five choices on guessing who taught me how to use this knife.” She traced the tip along David’s jugular, and for some reason, that move got me as hard as if she’d just stroked my cock.
“What do you want me to do, Nyx?”
“I want you to leave Vegas and never, ever mention me or my games ever again. And that means the ones from back in the day too. One word, and you’ll truly understand why they call me Silent Night.”
“You’re as fucked in the head as Tyler.”
“Hooray, you guessed the right Mykos. Don’t tell Papa or he’ll get jealous. Papa thinks he’s the only one allowed to teach me knife skills.” She gave him a flirty smile that never quite reached her eyes. “Want to know a secret?”
“I…I’m afraid to ask.”
“Tyler also taught me how to slice an artery so it causes the least amount of mess.” She stepped closer to him, almost brushing her full body to his. “It took a lot of practice to get it just right. But then again, I was only thirteen when I learned so my hands weren’t as steady back then. It took some practice, but now I’m as precise as a surgeon. Maybe one day they’ll callmethe Mykos Surgeon.”
The look of utter horror on David’s face was almost comical.
“Everything they say about you is true.”
“Isn’t there always a bit of truth to every rumor?” Nyx shrugged. “Maybe in my case, more than a bit. I’m just good at hiding it.”
Her mindfuck game could rival the most seasoned in our world. Then again, the reputation the Mykos men carried ran along the lines of mind-annihilation so it would make sense the youngest of the group would pick up a thing or two.
Her face grew serious, and all traces of the bloodthirsty Mykos baby sister disappeared. “Do I have your agreement, David?”
“Fine.”
“That doesn’t sound like a yes to me.”
“Yes. I’ll keep my mouth shut.”
“Good.” She stepped back. “Oh, and don’t even think about showing up to the engagement party.”
“I don’t have a choice.”
“Make up something. Like when you told Janice you were in Boston with your father when you were actually in Miami fucking your mistress. If you can lie to your wife, I’m sure you can lie to your family.”
Nyx gestured to a man near her, and he grabbed David, hauling him away.
Less than a few seconds later, Nyx sheathed the blade into its holder and handed it to a member of her detail. Closing her eyes, she leaned back against the wall where only moments earlier she had David pinned.
“You have that psycho Harley Quinn act perfect. The only thing missing is the blond hair with pink ends and your trusty bat,” Stevie, the tall, striking woman dressed in a tailored suit observed as she settled next to Nyx.
After Stevie had caught my first interplay with Nyx in the garden, I’d learned as much as I could about Stevie Nem. The former model turned champion mixed martial artist, turned head of Nyx’s security, had secrets of her own. However, since her secrets had no impact on my or Nyx’s life, they’d remain buried.
“I prefer knives of all types,” Nyx whispered as she pressed her fingers to her temple, and what looked like defeat flashed over her face. “All I wanted was just a night out to catch up with my bestie. Not this shit. First, it was the asshole I’m supposed to marry, and now this.”
“This one is handled. You scared him enough to keep his mouth shut. I’m pretty sure he peed himself.”
I couldn’t help but smirk at that comment.
Nyx sighed. “At least those stupid lies everyone made up about me finally came in handy.”
“That leaves the other asshole.”
