Taylor shook his head. “Did not!”
“This bickering isverysexy,” I said.
Jordan ignored me and began caressing my leg. “I’m taking Clara upstairs.”
Taylor jumped to his feet. “Then I’m coming too.”
“Are you suggesting we share her?” Jordan asked mockingly.
“Why not?” Taylor shot back. He put his hand on my other leg. “We’re sharing her in every other way!”
“Fine by me!” Jordan replied stubbornly. “As long as Clara doesn’t mind!”
I froze. “Wait a minute. Are you suggesting what I think you’re suggesting?”
29
Clara
The guys seemed confused, like they didn’t really understand what they had agreed to in their possessive bickering. Then Taylor’s mouth curled into an O shape of surprise.
“Yeah,” Jordan said. “I think we are suggesting that.”
Slowly, Taylor nodded.
It took me several heartbeats to find the words I wanted to say. “You want to have asex threesome?”
“I think you can just say threesome,” Jordan replied. Taylor nodded in agreement.
“How am I supposed to know that!” I hissed, trying to keep my voice low for the sleeping baby’s sake. “I’ve never done this before!”
Taylor awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck. “Neither have I.”
“I haven’t,” Jordan said quietly. “Not precisely.”
I whirled toward him. “Not precisely?”
“Okay, not at all,” he admitted. “I’ve never had a threesome. But I’m willing to try it.”
I looked at each of them in turn. I was kind of bewildered that they would be interested in this. It was one thing to share me on different nights, by themselves. But together like this…
I want to do it,I realized. I had never really fantasized about having a threesome before, but maybe that was because I had never known the right two guys. But now that I was flanked by them on the couch, the target of their possessive desire? I wanted it badly.
“What about you?” I asked Taylor. “Are you comfortable with this?”
Taylor gulped down the rest of his second margarita. “Okay, yeah,” he said while wiping his mouth. “I’m comfortable with it. Especially if it puts us ahead of the Chief.”
I gave him a look. “Is that the only reason you want to do it? To one-up Derek?”
Taylor grinned. “Not the main reason, no.”
Slowly, we all got up from the couch and went upstairs. Jordan carried the baby in his bassinet. The steps seemed extra creaky tonight, like the house knew what we were doing and was judging us for it.
Judge me all you want,I thought. This is really happening.
We went into my room, the one with all the typewriters. Taylor closed the door behind us, even though there wasn’t really a need. Jordan carefully put down the baby bassinet, then paused to make sure Anthony was still sleeping quietly.
Then he turned to me, threw me up against the wall, and kissed me like he was trying to win a contest.
