We say nothing. There are no words to quantify how much I want him right now. How much I need him.
Soon enough, we’re completely naked and hungry. Michael settles between my legs. I take a deep breath as I spread them for him. He intertwines our fingers.
“I love you, Christine,” he whispers softly.
He thrusts into me. Slowly, steadily. I cup his face and look into the green depts of his eyes as he settles deep within me.
There are no words to describe how special this moment is for both of us. We’re placing our hearts on the table for each other and it’s a beautiful, special feeling.
He takes me with slow, steady thrusts, making my entire body ache for him. Moments later, I’m coming around him. He kisses my skin, whispering promises of forever. Then it’s his turn to unravel. He pushes his face into my neck and lets go with a groan. I hold him close as I feel our hearts become one.
Now more than ever before.

The next day, Michael and I are lying in bed when I get an email from Ryder. With everything that’s going on, I had forgotten to reply to the job offer. I open it, and once I read the contents, my eyes widen and I almost scream.
“Holy shit,” I say, sitting up.
Michael rouses from beside me, where he had just dozed off.
“What’s wrong?” he asks.
I read the email again slowly before dropping my phone and throwing my arm around his neck.
“The job’s in New York,” I say excitedly.
“What?”
“Ryder just sent me the details. According to him, the organization wants to set up another branch in the U.S. Specifically in New York. And I’m supposed to be the head of the legal department.”
Michael has on a proud smile as he looks at me.
“You know what this means, right?”
“I’m an awesome lawyer who just scored a kickass job?” I ask.
He chuckles. “Yeah, that. Also, you can’t deny that it’s practically fate at this point. We were both always meant to be together, Christine. The stars were just too busy aligning.”
“I know,” I say leaning down to kiss him. “I love you so much. I love that you’re my soulmate. My person.”
“I love you, too. Tomorrow, I’m going to buy that building for you so we can be done with that chapter—and I won’t take no for an answer,” he says.
“Oh, that building is going for eight million dollars. You’re wont be getting any objections from me,” I say, patting his shoulder, making him smile and shake his head.
“I love you,” Michael whispers again.
Each word sends an arrow through my heart. My breath catches in my throat as I watch him watch me. He cups my face gently with both of his hands and kisses my lips. My breath shudders out of me in a rush.
I’ll always remember this moment with Michael—him holding me as we opened our hearts to one another forever. His strong warm hands cradle my face and when I look into his eyes, I see the truth written there plainly. I slide my arms around his neck and hold onto him just a little tighter.
“I love you, baby daddy,” I say playfully.
“Don’t start, Christine,” he says with a laugh before pressing his lips against mine.
Finally, after years of wanting, our story is finally truly beginning.
The End.
