And he proved it to me time and time again.
“I’m going to be a pregnant bride.”
“A beautiful bride.”
We stayed there like that until the doorbell rang.
As soon as I answered the door, Hayley shouted, “Let me see!”
My mouth dropped open, showing her my hand. “You knew?”
“Who do you think he went with?”
“You?”
“No,” Cade chimed in, walking in with baby Paige on his hip and James holding his hand. “Me.”
I smiled wide.
“I remembered which style you wanted.”
“I can’t believe you remember that, Cade.”
“You wouldn’t shut up about it for an entire summer. You even made me make a manifestation board with it.”
I teased, “If I remember correctly, I also added you passing your final in chem class and low and behold, you were the only one who had an A.” I nodded. “You’re welcome.”
Adrian came up behind me and wrapped his arm around my stomach rubbing it before he blurted, “Did you tell them you’re having my baby?”
In true Adrian Drake fashion, he wasn’t subtle.
After they congratulated us, Hayley and I started getting ideas for the wedding. We made Pinterest boards while playing with the kids. Spending the rest of the day together, we grilled out and enjoyed the warm weather.
I was adding another Pin when Hayley’s phone rang.
“Paige, can you answer that? I have to go to the bathroom.”
I grabbed her phone, seeing Haven’s name. Swiping over to answer the call, I was about to say hello, but Haven quickly spoke first, shocking the shit out of me when she asked abruptly…
“How do you make the bad boy notice you?”
The End
