“Okay, Daddy.”
She grinned when both men groaned. Her daddies were easy to please.
Chapter Twelve
The next day, Kaylin was sitting at her desk drawing.
“Hey, babe. Can you come here? We want you to meet someone,” Mack said.
She set her pencil down, stood, and took his hand. “Who is it?”
Mack laughed. “You’ll know in a minute.”
He pulled her into Jace’s office, where an older woman sat talking to Jace.
“We want you to meet Susan Tanner.”
She looked up at Mack, got his nod, and moved forward to shake the woman’s hands.
“It’s very nice to meet you, Kaylin.”
Kaylin nodded. She didn’t know how she felt. She wasn’t good at meeting new people, especially adults.
“It’s … um … nice to meet you.”
“Baby, she helps people with dyslexia,” Jace said. “Do you think you’d like to talk to her a bit and find out if working with her is something you’d like to do?”
Kaylin bit her lip. She wanted to in the worst way but was terrified.
“Kaylin, I promise everything is going to be okay,” Susan said. “I’m very good at my job. I have a passion for it because my mom had it.”
“Really?” Kaylin asked.
Susan smiled and nodded. “We can talk wherever you want. If you want to sit on the floor, we’ll do that. You might have to help me up, though.”
Kaylin relaxed and chuckled. “How about my room?”
Both daddies nodded.
“That’s fine with me. I wouldn’t mind if you’d feel better with one of the guys joining us.”
Kaylin shook her head.
“We’ll leave our doors open so we can hear you,” Mack said.
“This way,” Kaylin said.
In her room, she took Susan over to the table the guys had gotten for her and her friends. It sat six people easily and eight littles if they smooshed together.
“Is this okay?” she asked Susan.
“This is perfect.”
Kaylin watched the woman take some things out of a bag.
“I’d like you to tell me, if you can, when you were diagnosed?”
“Yes, I was in kindergarten.”
