“I have to admit I’ve never felt safer, which is ridiculous.”
“No, it’s not. All of us girls felt the same way.”
Ella stopped Amelia before she closed the door. “What I went through was hard enough. I can’t imagine going through it several times a day for years. I won’t wait another whole day.”
“I understand. My heart goes out to them. Give Fury and the guys a chance, I know they can do it.”
“I’ll try, but I’m not giving them a lot of time. You might tell Fury that.”
Amelia chuckled. “Oh, hell, no. Let’s take it hour by hour.”
“Thank you.”
Ella lay down and closed her eyes. Her body was exhausted enough that she was out within a minute.
Chapter Twelve
Ax quietly opened Ella’s door to see she was still asleep. He walked in, closed the door, and walked over to her. After Amelia had told him what Ella said, he had to make sure she was okay. He pulled off his boots and carefully slipped onto the mattress behind her. Ella moved around and whimpered.
“Shhh, it’s just me. Go back to sleep.”
He loved how she instantly settled upon hearing his voice.
Fuck, he wanted that bastard Teddy with fiery rage. He wanted him to pay for everything he’d done to the women, especially Ella.
The men had talked and come up with a plan. Fury sent Pokey, one of the brothers, to pick up one of the girls to “party,” but instead, he brought her to a motel they set up. Pokey had been around forever and was the oldest brother. He’d never wanted to do anything but be with the club and tinker around with his gadgets in one of the garages Fury had set him up with. The man had actually come up with several things the club used. Besides being the oldest, he looked the most normal, with very short gray hair and no tattoos that people could see.
Fury and a few men, including him, were there to question her. The woman, Rachel, had been terrified when Pokey walked her into the motel room full of bikers, until Ax stepped forward.
“Hey, lady. We’re not here to hurt you. We’re going to help you and the other girls.”
“What? Why?”
“Because Ella is determined to get you guys out as soon as possible, but we need information.”
“Ella? She’s okay?” the woman started crying. “Teddy told us she was killed.”
“We put that information out to give us some time. We didn’t want him taking you girls away.”
Ax grabbed onto her arm when she swayed. “Here, sit down.”
“I can’t believe it. Someone is finally going to help us,” Rachel said.
“Yes,” Fury said. “And we’ll take care of the men involved, so they’ll never hurt another woman again.”
Rachel pressed her face into her hands and sobbed. Ax almost smiled at how uncomfortable the men were. Ax handed her some napkins.
“There are six of you?” Fury asked.
Rachel sniffed. “Yes.”
“Where is Teddy usually?” Fury asked.
“He likes to go to clubs and party, but he’s been sticking around the house more. We think Ella spooked him.”
Ax grinned. “She probably did but not the way you’re thinking. We’ll tell you what she did later.”
“How many guys does he have with him?” Fury asked.
