Suit laughs. “Keep her alive. Injuries?” He turns to the third and they both chuckle. “Where she’s headed, that ain’t gonna matter. But, keep her alive.”

He clasps a hand to the big orc’s shoulder, who flinches with a grimace. It’s not fear. It’s disgust. Repulsion. Like he doesn’t enjoy being touched. Maybe he doesn’t like being touched by anyone, maybe it’s this particular orc that makes his skin crawl. I think about Levi and how I’d feel if he ever touched me like that.

“She’s loud too.” Suit says.

The big orc—Oran—finally turns, taking me in, his eyes meet mine.

He pauses. Something crosses his face. It’s a flash, but I think it’s…recognition? I don’t know how he would know me, I’m damn certain I don’t know him, I’d remember. Maybe he thinks I’m hot. Maybe I can use that.

“Getting a good look?” I sneer, but as his gaze falls down my body I instinctively raise my hands, covering my nipples as they harden. Fucking orcs. “Where are we?” I try again.

The big one Suit called Oran grunts and the ground feels like it vibrates underneath me, and the last thing I think of as he glares at me with such rage, is my grandpa.

Don’t worry, grandpa.

Not. One. Inch.

ChapterTwo

Oran

This cannot be.

I struggle against rage but it’s new.

Tangled with something I’ve never felt before.

Shame.

“You just gonna stand there and stare at me? You gonna maybe jack off or something at least?”

She sees me as the enemy. Because, I am her enemy. She is the fifth human I’ve watched over in this pit. What happens to them after they are taken from here, I’ve not been told but instinct tells me, I may be the server of their last meal, such as it is. And until now, I never cared. Why by the gods did it have to be her?

Her scent is stronger. There’s anger, yes, but fear? No.

“Do you speak?” she barks, the dark dirt from when Vlog dropped her into the pit stuck on her cheek and clinging to her fiery hair. “Well, in case you missed it, I will get out of here and I will kill you. So, get your fucking affairs in order strong silent type, because I’ll be coming for you too.” She stabs a finger upward, those blue eyes darkening like an oncoming storm.

The pull toward her is the same but stronger. Painful, like my flesh is on fire. My cock thickens but it’s a thousand bees stinging along my length. The aliens re-wired me, I cannot feel what my brothers have felt when they met their mates. I do not know what this is, but the raw daggers piercing my heart are more painful than any battle or experiment in my past.

“Oran,” Vlog calls from over my shoulder, snapping me back to the present. “Do not forget her value is high. Do not deviate from your job. Do not anger my father, you will not like how we pay back disloyalty. Your family will know our vengeance first.”

I snarl, “You do not touch my family.”

Vlog sniffs the air, but I sense his fear. “Don’t forget who is working for who,” he grunts.

“He works for me.” A voice comes from the open door.

We turn in unison. It’s Cardan, Vlog’s father, the one I work for. Fight for.

Back on Moban, he was brought to the cages as they were called for some experiment. He wore the control collar and did not fight. In his eyes I saw, fear as they shackled him to a pole where he would wait for what came next.

As I sat in the cage that was my home in their laboratory for most of my time there, I saw that the Moban had left their key sensor within his reach on a table. All he needed was a distraction, and to grab it and do his best to get away. I’d waved, pointed and did my best to make him understand what was about to happen.

Once he nodded, I pulled the metal chair from the bolts in the floor of my cell and wedged it between the bars, using it as a lever to break the lock on my door. I’d done this before but, the collar the Moban put on my neck, would drop me to the floor as soon as they could react.

I’d only hoped it was enough time to give him a chance to escape.

It did. The Moban focused on me, blinding me with the power of the collar as I fought and threw whatever was within my reach. I paid for my actions with two days of their favorite torture. Thin, heated needles inserted between my vertebrae into my spinal cord. Enough to cause indescribable pain, but not enough to paralyze or, unfortunately, not enough to kill me.
