“I want to go get a drink from the bar. Come with me,” West said to Ashtyn. I stood up to let them out and Ashtyn gave me a sad look.
“We’ll be right back,” she said before they left, taking away the buffer between me andthem.
Kane glared as Lauren whispered in his ear and grinned. I held his stare as I clenched my glass, trying not to break it. Lauren looked at me for a moment before she grabbed Kane’s chin and pulled his mouth to hers. She shoved her tongue in his mouth, thoroughly ruining my night.
I might’ve laughed at the desperate display if he didn’t look at her and start to kiss her back. A knife sliced through my heart when he grabbed the back of her head, threading his fingers through her hair just like he’d done to me.
He kissed her passionately, curdling the alcohol in my stomach. Fire burned in my blood as I watched them consume each other.
I shot out of my seat and shoved through the crowd of people to get to the bar, still clutching my glass. I spotted Xavier posted near the hallway that led to the bathrooms and made my way over.
“Hey. I need something,” I said as I waved my hand in front of him.
He lifted an eyebrow. “My, my. What happened to the innocent girl who didn’t like drugs,” he whispered.
“Hand it over. I need it,” I said desperately because I really fucking did. I wasn’t much for pills, but I wanted to take the edge off and dull this awful ache in my chest.
“If you want it,” Xavier said as he pulled a white pill from his shirt pocket. “You’re going to have to get it.” He placed the pill on his tongue, right next to the barbell pierced through it, and smiled.
Asshole.
I sighed as I leaned up and put my mouth on his. He slithered his arm around my back and pulled me against him, opening his mouth and devouring me with his tongue. Once I had the pill in my mouth, I pulled away and drank the rest of the vodka that was in my glass.
“Trying to make the golden boy jealous?”
“No.”
“Liar. Hey, be careful mixing that with alcohol,” he warned.
“Yes,Dad. I need a refill,” I smiled as I shoved away from him and went behind the bar to make myself a drink. One of the very few perks of working here.
I drank it down quickly and ditched the glass behind the bar, ready to hit the dance floor again. Hail’s band was covering Korn’sFreak on a Leashand they sounded amazing.
I maneuvered my way into the crowd and let go, the lights and fog and sound consuming me. I swayed with the people around me, not giving one flying fuck if I looked ridiculous. I felt large hands on my body, gripping my hips, but I didn’t care.
I didn’t even look to see who it was or what he looked like.
It didn’t fucking matter anymore. Nothing did.

Kane
IshovedLaurenoffme as I watched Dani leave the VIP area and head for the bar. I wiped the sticky pink lip gloss from my mouth and threw back the rest of my drink.
“You seriously need to get over her,” Lauren sneered as she pulled a compact from her purse to reapply makeup for the tenth time tonight.
I ignored her as Dani slid up to Xavier, sticking her hand out in front of him. She had to be asking him for pills.
“He never will,” Theo said as he kicked back in the booth. “Either get used to it or fuck off.”
Lauren gasped and narrowed her eyes on him. “For your information, we’re supposed to be dating.”
“Fakedating,” Theo reminded her.
“Whatever. There are plenty of guys that want me. I’m leaving.” She looked at me, probably waiting for me to argue against it, but I was locked on Dani making out with Xavier.
He had put a pill on his tongue and made her collect it with hers.
