Wasn’t gonna ever happen, but it was a nice gesture.
Adrenalizeby In This Moment started flowing through the speakers and the strobe lights kicked up, fog rolling along the stage. That was my signal. I strutted across the platform in five-inch heels, praying to whoever that the straps across my chest would keep me secure as I slid around the pole.
It wasn’ttraditionalfor the girls at Ethereal to choreograph their dances to metal bangers, but I was the exception.
There was no sensual dancing for me. Everything had purpose, emotion, turmoil.
I wouldn’t survive it otherwise.
I hooked my leg around the top of the pole and slithered down, becoming one with one of my favorite songs. Pretending I didn’t have beady, hungry eyes consuming my body.
That was the key to being good at this. Keeping a mask of indifference in place at all times, pretending like the spotlight didn’t bother me.
I spotted Eddie right away. He was at the bar, eyes locked firmly on my tits. I smiled at him for less than a second before going back to the task at hand.
Sucker. Guys loved thinking they were the apple of my eye.
Newsflash fucker, you’re gonna wish you never met me.
The song concluded and I was greeted with raucous applause and cheers, along with a few comments about my ass. I did one last cheeky swing on the pole, smiled at Eddie, and made my way backstage to prepare myself for Phase Two of the evening.
I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge backstage and drank half before coming up for air. I ventured through the curtain that led to the hallway back to the main room, and once I reached the end of the hallway, I was met by a smiling blonde guy. He was slightly shorter than me and held a fruity drink of some sort.
Fuck, this was going to be easier than I thought.
“I thought you could use this. You were amazing up here,” Eddie smiled, shoving the drink at me.
I took it with a smile, knowing him and roofies were on friendly terms. The last thing I needed was to get drugged before I got to the good part. “Thank you. What’s your name?”
“Evan.”
Liar.
Oh yes, this was going to be fun.
Chapter 13
Dani
Islidapairof matte black brass knuckles on my fingers. They fit me perfectly. I squeezed, loving the feel of them. Loving what was about to happen to the rapist sitting before me.
“Just say when,” Kane said. “I know you like playing with your food.”
I smiled as I slid another set on my other hand. “You know me so well.”
I had a soft spot in the blackened organ in my chest for men who asserted their dominance over the innocent by using their dicks. Knowing I was taking a predator out of the world…there was no better feeling. It gave me a high, a rush, one that couldn’t be achieved with any amount of weed or sex.
We were in the basement at Ethereal. Gio made sound-proofed rooms which were all equipped with tools of our trade–anything a twisted mind could think of, we had it. But I was a simple girl when it came down to it. I liked getting to know my men in a personal way, hence the brass knuckles.
Kane walked over to the counter that lined one of the walls and turned on my work playlist.Gasolineby I Prevail bellowed from the speakers as I got down to business. Kane leaned up against the counter, crossing his thick arms, watching me do my thing.
He watched as I landed hit after hit on Eddie, splattering his blood across the room and myself. I was still wearing my dance outfit–including the heels–but that was how I did it.
Dressed to kill.
Pun definitely intended.
Eddie woke up from his little nap, confused as fuck as I hit him in the ribs. He grunted and hunched over slightly, still restrained by the cuffs we put on him after he passed out.
